Hello there,I am not sure whether this is a bug, idea or an actual support matter, but I believe there is a problem with the current queue system or the way it works. Why am I saying this? Because I just spent more than 50 minutes waiting in the queue and the system did not find anyone to play with.• I successfully played 2 games in a row with the ‘average queue wait time’ of 3-5 minutes and actual 5-10 minutes’ wait, which was acceptable• Waiting for the third game: ‘average queue wait time’ of 3-4 minutes and actual 30 minutes wait with no results > cancelled• Waiting for the third game again: ‘average queue wait time’ of 5-6 minutes and actual 25 minutes wait with no results > cancelled > check out the forumsI obviously understand there must be certain parameters to match players with similar experience, but even if there is nobody suitable searching for a game, you cannot make a player wait 30 minutes - 1 hour to play a game that might only take 15 minutes. Therefore, I would like to know if this is something ‘normal’? Shall I expect similar experience in the future? Would someone be able to explain what happened? I personally believe that I have a lot of patience, but this seems a bit ridiculous and it will push me away from playing the game…Thank you for your time.PS. Current ‘how long you’ve been waiting’ shows 32 minutes.
I also think there is something wrong with it. I've been in chat talking with others who where waiting and it never made the match.
unfortunately I can't afford to keep waiting so I don't play it anymore.
The playerbase is way too small. It is a disaster to fiend a game -most of the time I give up.
There are still people playing ranked vanilla Ashes, as well as a separate group who play Escalation ranked. They need to merge these 2 ranked ladders asap.
How would they play together though? Balance would be impossible with the differences between versions and I doubt most Escalation players would be ok losing all the Escalation additions otherwise they'd still be playing base Ashes.
That Friday evening when you get home from work and feel like playing a ranked match of Ashes of the Singularity, you leave the game on for 45 minutes and it does not find anyone to play with...
Even if this is the most expensive game that I bought so far, I feel like giving up on it. The campaign is very short, playing offline games with AI is rather boring, and custom matches... I was not able to find an empty one or get any player when I created a public room.
Still plenty of bugs to be fixed, but... The Stardock team are launching a new game - Escalation.
Well done.
PS. By the way, what does the 'Ashes of the Singularity Founder' icon mean?
I haven't been in MP for a while, but am planning to return.
I just wanted to finish the escalation campaign before jumping back into MP.
I finally had the chance to finish up the other day.. yay (was very fun, BTW).
Anyhoo, I am curious if I am not alone.
Maybe more players will start showing in MP over time.
I know I will be there to find out...
LL Ashes and Escalation!
GLHF!
I think a lot of people have moved to Escalation. I haven't waited more than about 8 or 9 minutes for a game there so far.
ive played ~20 ranked escalation matches and not one wait was longer than 5 min, i reckon the issues reported here were bugs with the connection. doesnt the game auto assign u an AI if the wait is too long? or are yall vanilla players?
So, in other words, are you telling me to buy Escalation, right?! After I bought this one, finished the campaign in about 15 hours and played 30 multiplayer ranked matches, shall I forget about it? And the money spent on it?
I will buy Escalation, play more or less the same amount, and then what? Are you going to launch another game and tell me (and others) that the multiplayer moved over there? Ha, ha, that will not happen.
Now I understand the mixed / negative feedback from Steam sale page...
I am not talking about Escalation, as not long ago I bought the base game - Singularity. To answer your question, no, the game does not assign you anyone. I can even wait 1 hour, if there are no players around, nothing happens. Currently I waited for 32 minutes in the queue...
i understand how u feel, i was also upset about the way the game was implemented, but it really seems like there will be no 3rd game as u mention. the next expansions will all be plugged directly onto either escalation or vanilla. so i believe if u do buy escalation (at a discounted price since u own vanilla ashes) u wont have to keep buying any other "new version game". u will gain access to the larger MP community of escalation and the other benefits that come with the game
even if i disagree with the marketing strategy i cant deny that ashes is still a good game, so thats why i say upgrading to escalation is still worth it, otherwise the money u have already spent is a waste if u abandon the game completely
the way i feel is i bought a car with no wheels (vanilla ashes) yes i might have been upset that i had to buy wheels for it, but i bought the wheels(escalation) nevertheless, otherwise the money spent on the car was wasted. and with the discount (50% discount) for vanilla ashes owners, it works out to be a decent price at least.
