I am using Classic Shell 4.2.5 with Fences 2.13. Before I installed Fences, I could down swipe on the right edge of the desktop and open the win 10 metro screen. Now with Fences installed I can now longer do that. I searching a particular problem the web search results refers to a solution, however it is based on opening a win 10 metro screen app. Is there a way, now with fences installed, to open the metro screen without damaging my fences setups?
Ok, I use Windows 10 and Fences.
I assume you use a touchscreen? Swipe usually means touchscreen.
I get the Action Center in Windows 10 on the right. The only "metro" screen I know of in Windows 10 is only seen in tablet mode, so, could you be a bit more specific?
I'll try to help.
Sorry that I was not more specific. I am using a desktop. By swipe, I mean that I was able to select and hold the right mouse button while pulling down on the right side of the screen to open the metro menu screen. Hope this clarifies.
If you allow the notifications Icon to display on your taskbar you can click that (to get the action center) and select tablet mode that way.
I'm sure there is a keyboard shortcut for tablet mode.....such as the windows key + a to get the action center and again click the tablet mode.
Microsoft should look at this topic and then wonder why some people, including me, have no freaking clue what the actual topic menu in question is.WHy is it called Info Center for me while it is called action center for you hilarious...Had to google action center, and i use that on a daily haha.BTW if Tablet mode is greyed out for you it might be due to multiple displays connected to your system. To trick windows and activate it anyways is to enable surround on Nvidia cards or use the AMD Mutimedia eyefinity as far as i read in the web. However i havent tried that myself since i dont have a touch Monitor myself.
Another way to use swipe is to hold both mouse buttons on your desktop and then move it to either side to switch to the second display.(if you have two or more attached)
Got it "somewhat". By using the action center and switching on the tablet mode, the windows 10 start screen does reactivate, however in a somewhat different format than before I installed fences. but this solution should suffice.
Well so far that is the best I could find. I searched for a direct key launch of Tablet Mode and couldn't find it. Sounds like something Microsoft might want to hear about in their Windows 10 Feedback. Hint Hint.
