I'm working on a couple of leader gfx. Pls. see the preview pic for some examples.
I plan to create more, but it's not that fast, so don't expect lotsa new gfx each week. But I guess I'll be playing GC III for longer so...

The easiest use is to copy the files into the corresponding folders in ../my documents/my games/GalCiv3. This will enable the pics to be used in-game when editing custom races. Alternatively the filenames of those pics can be edited into custom xml files manually.
Modders can use those as they wish (for example to include them in own releases), provided it remains non-profit use and credit is given.

These are great, and I think you'll find plenty of interest from people who would like to use them for custom factions!
Looks good! Glad to see someone making custom models! You could ask Gauntlet if he would like a few custom models so he won't need to rely on stock images.
The problem I usually face with using stock images is finding out what they are from which just makes me change whatever image I use for my original idea into something I don't know the source of, and so it goes on. No more of that!
I am looking forward to seeing these guys animated, too! So many good things going on with GCIII right now and I can't wait!
Thx for the comments. I'll release them in small batches of ca. 5-10 leaders, the 1st batch in the next days.
I do mostly leader foregrounds (so the actual leaders gfx on transparent BG) plus the smaller pics for the race selection.
In some specific cases I'll provide backgrounds too, for example right now I have an aquatic alien in the works that makes most sense in combination with a blueish background. Other than that people can just use whatever BG they like either provided by vanilla GC III or custom.

FWIW I had some of those created already for GC II, which needed quite some rework for III though. A couple are completely new.

I can see some improvement from your earlier work. I liked the first batch, but they sort of had a stylistic consistency, sort of if they might be related remotely (which is not a bad thing btw). The more humanoid ones here show a more varied style which is a big plus.

I released an updated package. It contains all the previous leader gfx plus five more new leader FGs from the last preview.
I also included some reworked versions of the first (little details changed). UNless you want to stay with the original versions just overwrite them with the newer ones...

I'm preparing a small update for the next days.
The main reason is that one of the recent aliens didn't work well in all screens - if you set this up as your own civ it's too much down in certain reports. Also I made aspecific BG for it, as the vanilla GC pics did not fit IMO. The pic below shows the new BG:
Other than that I'll probably include 2 new FGs.

Ok, this is a bit of a thread necro.
It took me a long time, but I made few more leaders, reworked some made previously, added few more BGs, but most importantly also added citizens for 10+ of the leaders/civs I created.
So if ppl are interested in those - do you prefer to get the individual factions via Steam, or just like before the gfx per download for own modding? I got to admit I put most attention into making the gfx, not so much into a faction's flavour text or anything else
