I have a license for both Start10 and WindowBlinds 10 just today I, in excitement, installed WB10 only to find it doesn't function properly.
It appears skinned elements, especially in the taskbar, flicker rapidly and sometimes turns black and back, furthermore buttons seem to not function especially in the taskbar. Seems to happen with any skin.
I'm running Windows 10 Pro 64-bit, Build 10586
I was wondering if anyone else has seen this?
I also have the same issue, but mainly on the taskbar on my second monitor. I have raised a ticket with support on this, so until it is fixed I have disabled taskbars to be displayed on all monitors in taskbar properties and this fixed the flickering, but leaves me with no taskbar on my second monitor. I have also noted that if I enabled taskbars on all monitors, the desktop seems to try and refresh all the time on my main screen.
My version of Windows 10 is the same, Pro build 10586.
Hope it gets sorted soon.
I mentioned this on another thread that is relevant to this one:
My display is a Sapphire AMD Radeon HD 7970 using the 16.1 driver.
Are you all using a DPI setting of > 100%?
I think we have reproduced it here but only with a dpi scaling setting.
No, i'm using 100% scaling...
No I actually detest that feature so I have my DPI setting set to a custom factor of 100% on both displays.
I get flickering title bars sometimes when changing focus (ie clicking from one window to another). The graphic disappears for a split second, leaving the default windows 10 title bars briefly visible. I'm not sure what causes it. Changing skins seems to stop it for awhile but it comes back eventually.
Hello All,
I have same issue when I plugged extended monitor task bar is flicking and not usable and screen flicking too.
Kind Regards
Just installed today and have the flickering on the taskbar of the 2nd monitor only.

We have a beta of WindowBlinds 10 available which should resolve this. Please try updating to it by downloading the beta from your products on the Stardock store.
I was so psyched to see this has finally been released. Since Windows 10 did a ninja upgrade on my Windows 7 system, I have been really bummed and have been looking forward to this to come out for Win10. I even went so far as to start writing my own custom controls in .NET to use in my own apps to get away from the ugly Win10 UI.But.. same issues here. Taskbar on second monitor jumps and flickers as if it on sure what size it should be. Also text on main screen task bar keeps swapping size and flickers. Sometimes the client areas on windows don't update and get graphic artifacts from behind showing through. Caption bars on some windows don't render at all. Various things. I will attempt to get some screen captures later to share my results.I am looking forward to a near future patch to address these issues.
Here's what my taskbar on monitor 2 looks like. I was unable to capture the rest of the desktop misbehavin'
Update: I have resolved this issue by disabling taskbars on all non-primary displays. (Taskbar properties, Taskbar, Multiple displays, turn off Show taskbar on all displays)The problem seems to stem from different geometries of multiple monitors. So until a patch is ready, I run without multiple taskbars. And no. I do not have access to new beta versions. I have just purchased WindowBlinds a few days ago and do not know of any 'beta' as it does not show in my download options.
Did you update to WB 10.0.4 Beta?
I did have this issue, too and the new beta version kind of fixed it.
But: I have one screen running in HDPI and 200% scale and the other one with SDPI and 100%. To be specific:
- Surface book 13" 3000x2000 in HDPI and 200%
- Samsung SyncMaster 305T 30" in 2560x1600 in SDPI and 100% scale.
- The Samsung display usually is set as my primary display
The problem now: on the Surface Book all skinned elements are half size and labels are very, very tiny.
I'll test with the internal display only when I have time and also with the internal display as primary display. That might work, but is not my setup for daily use.
As fonts are system wide they have to be based on the OS reported system wide dpi value.
I would reapply the skin just in case there is an issue with that.
Also a screenshot might be useful here so we know exactly which bits you are referring to.
I have the same issues with the task bar on my second monitor flickering and jumping. I have two 28" monitors, an nVidia GTX960 and all scaling is at 100%.
This is only happening to me when I have the task bar set to display small icons. When I use large icons, which I believe is the default windows behavior, the issues go away.
I'm running the latest stable release of WB 10 and Start8 with the Start10 upgrade on a fully updated Windows 10 Pro machine that was upgraded from Windows 8 Pro.
The latest beta resolves this problem. I expect it to go live soon.
I suspected 'Virtual Desktops' in W10 had something to do with it but, I could be wrong.
I still get the clock fonts going dark all the time, though.
