ADMIN EDIT : IconPackager 10 is now available from www.iconzone.com and supports Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10.
I am very sure that some people have been asking in the past ..........
...... BUT .... would Stardock be Updating Iconpackager for Windows 10?
I really HATE Windows icons since day one LOL
Plus I want to use the icons to match with my Windowblinds 10 themes.
nice, am going to check it out now...... but also please please work on iconpackager too..
The Windows 10 icons aren't at all bad, and I really pay no attention to how they look anymore.
Fences is one of my most favorite apps. Lower the opacity and it's perfect on the desktop.
I think we may have our answer, guys/gals.
I am using IconPackager 4.0 x 64 in Windows 10 with no problem at all. However, it must be run in compatibility mode for Windows 7. The later version for Windows 8 would not run for me at all but this one works perfectly. I am also using Cursor FX with no problem.
I do have a wish list though. I would love a new version of Logon Studio. I am currently using another version but would much prefer to use one from Stardock and happy to pay for it.
^ you think that was him basically saying screw iconpackager? lol, i hope not....

OMG !!!!! IconPackager 4.0 DOES WORK !!!!! I have Google for it.
Now .... I have my devoted and loving Delta icons with Ubuntu WB theme !!!
It does NOT make sense that IconPackager 5 does NOT work with Windows 10 SMh
DO NOT INSTALL ANY VERSION OF ICONPACKAGER ON WINDOWS 10.
The older versions are not blocking install as they are not aware of Windows 10
If you uninstall your OS is liable to break!!!!
What do you mean ?
He means don't install Icon Packager on Windows 10. It will mess up your OS, and uninstalling would be even worse. Wait until Stardock updates it, if they do.
I guess it's too late for that LOL
I already installed and unstalled IconPackager.
Right now, I am working with CustomizerGod
.... well .... let's see ... if my Windows 10 will be alright LOL
the only big applications are just Adobe. So I will be just fine if I have to reset my PC ..... sooner or later
I went to school and learned to read............
Well that's a matter of opinion, and certainly one that most disagree with, given the reaction to the Fisher Price rejects Microsoft served us up. I am only one of many who think that customising the desktop with a lovely dark theme would be pointless when those horrible icons remain. Frankly, it is a deal breaker for myself and many others. I want total control over what appears on my desktop, and sorry to say it, but the absence of a viable IP for Win 10 means there will be no 'upgrade'.
I have deleted Iconpackager as Neil have suggested.
I have few Restore Points ... so I had restore to a good point and restarted.
Now I am using CustomizerGod with the PNG version of my devoted and dedicated Delta icons.
Totally SWEET with the Ubuntu WB theme.
Thanks for this link !!!!
Looks like nothing to me, but I'd never install it so....
iconpackager should be the second most looked after app from the stardock corp.... first windowblinds then iconpackager..... third cursorfx then the rest of the apps.... those are the 3 main apps people use when customizing their desktops/laptops.... people who aren't designers of course.... so i don't understand at all why the drama over updating iconpackager.... it should be a major focus for stardock..... im sure many people are with me on that....
While I certainly understand why folks loved IP, I can't help but wonder why it is that people feel totally free and qualified to tell SD its business...without any data regarding sales, popularity, corporate plans, manpower, tasking...you name it.
BUT, with the waning popularity of customization, SD more and more supports WC...so, an occasional "Thanks" is warranted, I believe.
well i dunno how the sales are doing regarding any of the products... i only speak for myself in saying i spend a pretty large amount of money on stardock products... and skins and whatnot..... and iconpackager is a must have... i mean when you dress up your pc with all the stardock goodies... how the heck are you supposed to leave the ugly standard windows icons the way they are and expect your pc to look any good.... lol.. like i said before i would rather leave the whole pc standard in that case if im forced to leave standard windows icons with my sweet blind and all the other cool stuff... and all that money i spent on premium blinds and icons and cursors.... wouldn't interest me anymore... it would be like i threw the money in the garbage..... i mean alot of you guys are skinners, this should be an issue for you also, i don't get it.... hehehe
Speaking personally, I don't feel qualified to tell SD its business, and I don't think that's been the gist of the comments here. These are customers who, like I would were I on Win10, miss a great product and are letting SD know, in their own way, that there is still at least some demand (in the economic sense) for it out there.
It's obvious to even casual observers that SD's main business is now firmly in the gaming arena and I wish them much success there. I'm grateful they've hung in with supporting GUI customization & OS enhancements to the extent they have. Considering the Apple-like trajectory MS is on, however, with their moves toward controlling every aspect of your computing experience, I can easily envision a not-distant future where customizing the OS will first require the equivalent of a 'jailbreak'. This would have the obvious impact on SD revenue from the WinCustomize side of the business - if/when it drifts too far south of profitability, it will disappear. For all I know, it's already under water and being effectively subsidized by the gaming side. But it's been a good run and props to SD for putting out some great stuff that I've thoroughly enjoyed for nearly 15 years.
Nothing lasts forever, folks.
Well ..... in the year 2016, I would think that iconpackager and Windowblinds should be one application.
If if those skinpacks have everythjng in one package....... what not Stardock do the same as well ?
somethihg to ponder about.
Actually, Windows 10 was ticked when I installed it so it recognized it as incompatible which is a good thing. It uninstalled just fine. All is well but will wait for a new version.
Trust this man, folks. You won't regret it.
Me too! JMHO but the Windows 10 icons are awful and I also like to match icons with Blinds.
it only makes sense to match the icons with the blind your using..... not doing so is just not civilized, lol i hope stardock wakes up and comes to their senses...
