Not sure but unless this guy had a stroke of genius I think we may have issues already. Asad is his handle and for the last few days that I have been playing him in ranked match 1vs1 I have completely steamrolled him to the point that I would just back off and allow to catch up etc... I kept trying to chat while in game to offer pointers but never any response. Today I sign in and load up ranked match and who do i get... Asad, only this time he takes over the entire map with hundreds and hundreds of units within minutes. I may very well be missing something but I can barely even get partially set up before getting steamrolled. Last night, no competition, this afternoon couldn't even make a dent to save my life. Any feedback would be cool.
PS - Thanks guys for coming up with a game like no other to fill the hole in my gaming heart since TW3 and Kanes Wrath lost their gamespy server. This game rocks and look forward to its evolution, fantastic start - Props for an amazing job by your whole team

Don't worry, it's not a hack or exploit. Asad is actually painfully good at the game. He was just playing as a beginner early on.
What? for Real? I am ASAD in Steam and i had this name forever, but i have not played in weeks.... i guess someone else took my name?...
i just played him again and scanned his base immediately upon game start... he already had scout ships coming from below his main base starting point... along with a factory of his at a "neutral defender" base... this was within about 5 seconds of game play... i had just barely pumped out my first engineer. Within 5 minutes he had half the map and a military economy of around 10000. At that point I just quit. I played him at least 5 times yesterday/last night and he never stood a chance on any of those games... dosen't make sense...
Just the fact that you replied just now proves it wasn't you I was playing because NONE of the 6-7 games in total from 2 days ago/yesterday and today would the "Asad" I was playing reply to in game chat even once... trippy

lol... thought I would try and play again but I keep getting the same guy in ranked match. It's stuff like this that destroys the launch of a game... I honestly don't even want to play anymore. 1 minute into game he had military economic might of over 1000 had taken over 3 neutral defender zones built or started with at least 2 factories I saw maybe more because I couldn't scan the 3rd area he had already conquered from the neutral defenders mass army and several engineers ALL WITHIN 60 SECONDS (1 MINUTE)

Yes, I looked at the rankings. Some people have put in a LOT of matches against useless level AI over the last week. If they didn't twig that it was AI then they must think they are the bees knees at the game at this point
I didn't know ASAD in Steam was you, doh! Miss that extra D and F . We should have a game sometime, or play test some new maps. If it doesn't crash ...two more crashed on me tonight.
Some odd stuttering every now and then for a few minutes leading up to the crashes but not caused by FPS and no warnings of the other player slowing the game down and I doubt my system or connection would either. Some crashes have no preceding stuttering though.
There is only one guy in custom match and it wont connect us for some reason and in auto match ranked game I just keep getting this Asad guy over and over again, just about ready to give up
As explained it is an AI. Why AI is in ranked and is not clearly listed as one is not super clear...I agree it may well turn some people off the game.
I feel bad for the real ASAD now.
That is a bug, it happens every now and then. Once you can't join it and realise it is one of "those" you just have to ignore it. I did get a couple of games through the custom MP tonight though.
Yes that's cool, i have played a few single player games of AOTS in Beta1 but that's it, i just want to finish Homeworld before i go back into AOTS lol sorry.
I will love to try some new community maps, so far I have done like 6 maps.
About this other guy who play as Asad I will try to login in like 6 hours and see if I will get to play him. it will be ASAD vs Asad lol.
Who said it was a Bot(AI)? damn awesome so keep that bot in the game, it makes me feel special if he's Kicking ass lol.

BTW if its really a Bot, then it will be easy to kill him if you play very careful. When taking a region you need to defend it and and keep expanding, for each regio0n you take defend it with defense Structures and some units. it will be a slow game and you can win it.

Anyhow the AI setting is off the charts now I guess because I can't even get started before it owns the map, I'm no pro that's for sure but I understand the game enough that I should at least have a chance I would think. Any reason why If we are looking for live game it subs in an AI and if so why can't we at least choose the level?
PS i noticed that when AI (Asad lol) started up in last game I scanned neutral defender base next to it and AI sent in engineer, there was no defending units for the neutral base but there is on my side... just seems like maybe a glitch or could be part of the AI level settings ?

Thanks for the tip, but trust me there is no time with this AI setting as one of the games within 2 minutes my main base was almost destroyed by attacking aircraft. Another game I tried mass unit spam, no good - the next game I tried move and defense one base at a time and in the time it took just to set up the basics AI had taken over most of the map and spamed me to death. Thats why I was sure it was an unlimited funds hack, there are just too many units created in the small amount of time
you can tech up quick or build mass army quick but not both at the rate that was happening. I wish there was a way to save a replay of these games so I could show you guys how absurd my opponents build and expanding rate was... no way to match it.

I (Mellified Man) just played a ranked match against someone named Meyer who was at rank 8. There are other opponents in the queue.
I see you're doing well Umminakillu. While those losses against Asad hurt, you're still Rank 4! You just played against mansacrichlow, a Legendary rank player. He must be very good.
Anyway, with the relatively small community we have for multiplayer during Beta ranks aren't as helpful for matching players against each other. You may well be matched to a mismatched player (even repeatedly) because there aren't a lot of opponents at your rank yet. After the weekend there will be more players ranked up to give you some competition.

No its not a glitch, you can do that too, when the game start you can send your engineer as fast as possible to take a region with no problem, Neutrals take time to spawn.
I have not played 1 auto-match yet, I know I suck, I always play single player because of my not reliable internet connection, but i will try it for the first time in around 4 hours.

LOL.Yesterday I played for the first time 1 ranked game(unranked auto-match) and after two minutes of waiting, I got to play against Dorian rank 10 AI bot, and damn I really did try but he destroyed me, it's fine I don't care, its gonna be a great way to learn how to play the game and create some Strategies that goes against Dorian lol.
Ok guys, we are getting way off track as to why I posted this in the first place. I love gaming and never give up over losses and losing is the best way to learn new strategies and the like... My original post was regarding playing an individual for days and them being no competition whatsoever then like a switch the next morning they consistently steamroll me like I'm standing still creating unrealistic amounts of income and units. That's all, if it's a Bot and its settings (which we can't see) went from easy to steamroll then so be it... If it's a player then I smell a hack, no wild tangents or crying over losses just seemed out of place and I was looking out for every one

Funny, it seems the bot settings are not consistent either as I have been matched against Asad again a few times yesterday and once again... no competition. It would be helpful if we had an indicator of the AI settings that we are auto matched against as well as a notification that we are indeed playing a Bot as opposed to a human. Sometimes it is obvious but not always.
