WB v10.0.1 update:
If you check your available downloads, you will find the latest beta version of WB 10. I couldn't find it at first either.
Which version of SKS are you using?
SKS8 used WB8 registration so activating that will wipe out the WB10 activation. Activating WB10 will then wipe out the WB8 activation.
Use SKS10 which avoids this.
Neil, does this mean that my SKS 8 and WB 8 on Windows 8 will lose their activation if I use WB 10 on win10?
No.
Please Neil, the information that I have supplied needs to be addressed as it's kind of vital to us master skinners.
-Will the popup menus and the explorer backgrounds be skinned in a future build ?
No matter what I try, NOD32 AV on or off, reboot or not, I don't get it to work. When I try to apply a skin, WB quits with the message, it wasn't installed properly.
Clicking Yes (AV still off) does not do any better.
Windows 10 Pro (10586.th2_release.151121-2308)WindowBlinds 10 BETA (005 - Windows 10 Edition) - 64 bit OSWindowBlinds is not installed correctly on this PC. If you did not reboot after installing WindowBlinds 10 for the first time, then please reboot and try this again. Wblind.dll 2015/12/17 13:45:ll Wblind64.dll 2015/12/17 13:45:43 Wbsrv.dll 2015/12/02 14:52:18 WB10Config.exe 2015/12/17 13:45:08 Wbload.dll 2015/12/02 14:52:48 Screen.exe 2015/12/02 14:52:27
Uninstalled and reinstalled. No problem with serial, but when I go to enter editing software, it crashes. I suspect this has something to do with my computer since Skype and Snap 7 (screen shot software) both are crashing when I try to upload a pic in the former, or save a screenie in the latter.
Wish I knew how to fix this...
ESET and WB.. try exclude it in Hips. I did and then it worked fine.
1) Open the configuration window for ESET, click on the setup option.
2) Then under Computer you should see HIPS with a green dot and enabled next to it. Click on enabled and pick setup from the menu.
3) On the Advanced setup screen find the configure rules button and click it.
4) Then click new... at the bottom
5) Give the rule a name like WindowBlinds and set action to ALLOW.
6) Then on the source applications tab pick Add... and browse to theWindowBlinds directory and select wbcore.exe
7) You do not need to configure any of the permissions on the other tabs, but if this still does not work then just tick them all.
8) Then click OK on each of the dialogs and reboot windows.
@Nerius: That helped, thank You !
c242 You're welcome! Glad i could help.
With my Problem with transparent headermenu for Tor, did a second try on a fresh clean installed Win 10 System and Settings. No success. Also tried with "Windowblinds -> per application -> add Browser". Nothing. Only new i got is that i got an overlay which hiding the Buttons (Close, minimize) too.
Way1: Use Windows Default theme -> all okWay2: Use a Skin -> transparent HeaderWay3: Use Skin with App disabled Settings: no transparent but disabled ButtonsWay4: Default Skin, Fox/Tor Persona installed and only transparent Title Bar (without Buttons)
Another one is few Posts above. Figured out few days ago. Eset User too and the supportsite is from 2013 with posted tips with HIPS. Any solution next 2-3 years or its impossible?
WindowBlinds 10 on Windows 10
Nice one JC!
@Neil...the blank pages somehow reverted to the wba icons. Don't ask me how...I dunno.
Good Morning everyone,
The only issue I have with the latest beta was with Firefox. It would not resize correctly. Last night, there were some additional, unrelated issues so I went back to Internet Explorer using the DuckDuckGo browser and everything is working perfectly. I really love having WB again. I am like a kid in a candy shop installing blinds and new wallpapers.
One screenie deserves another:
Win 10 featuring WB10-Naked Noir-Objectdock and CursorFX plus a wall I got from the web.
I am not having any issues with the latest Firefox. There were some pink mouse overs in the first beta but they seem to have been corrected.
Looks like "Blurred Transparency" is back alright
Issues with HIPS are unfortunately all their end. We have reported it but short of us throwing up a message recommending a better designed AV product there is little we can do.
On Windows 10 you can have blurred transparency for the start menu (when provided by Start10) and the taskbar.
I just wanted to say thank you to Stardock, and to all of you great people who are trouble-shooting the beta WindowBlinds 10! Thanks to all of you, all of the rest of us will have a terrific finished product. Again, many thanks!
@NeilThanks for your answer :]
Mhhh, Screenshot, Object Dock Manager, Product, Rightclick, go to Product Page -> Popup to select Program to open and then those broken Fading green/black taskbar. Skin i use there is "Echo". Taskbar has then the same Background as Fences in the right.Edit: Other Skins, have same problem too here...
damn it forum lost my post. typing again...
WindowBlinds10 is crashing my Chrome every time. Stable channel Chrome x64bit running as admin, Win10 x64.
In Chrome you can have an "Application Shortcut" by clicking config->more tools->create application shortcuts. Opens the page in a mostly chromeless window.
Steps to reproduce.
1. Open Chrome.
2. Everything works fine.
3. Open an applicaiton shortcut (Google Play Music in my case).
4. Chrome Crashes.
I have to exclude Chrome from WB. Which is ironic because the reason I bought ObjectDesktop was for WB for the ugly window frame in Chrome Application Shortcuts
Actually having to exclude a lot. Had to exclude MSPAINT to make it launch to even paste this screenshot.
My (now ancient) Windows 2027 skin looking good with WB10 and Windows 10. Needs a few tweaks in SS though - like the tray date and time etc.
Firefox won't fully skin - will need to sort that out. Otherwise it's looking good
Another BIG thing: The new Windowblinds for 10 has got some Missalignment problems that needs to be fixed (see picture)
EDIT: Updated the screen drivers fixed the startmenu problem, however the taskbar is still "Compressed"
Allright, here is a screenshot with the stuff I encountered:
I hope the forum resizes the picture. I couldnt find a option to make a link to the picture. The first 2 images should speak for itself. Colume mixer isnt skinned and the preview pop-up from the taskbar seems to have the border skin from the theme but it isnt applied properly. I can see a faint outlign of the border behind the preview image of the program.
The bottom when tends to happen when I run a game like WoW. I run wow in fullscreen windowed mode and when I press the windows button, the start menu appears correct but the taskbar, as you can see, doesnt appear fully skinned. When I click or mouseover the taskbar the skin is fully visible again.
Also, I use the Stardock Perfection theme.
