Ok guys, so i just Purchased Obect Desktop. I thought it was a application containing all the other utilities( Start10, ShadowsFX, etc) that is mine forever once i buy it.
(Previously in windows 8 i had bought Start8 and that one didn't say it expires)
But as i browsed the forums people were saying it's actually a Subscription? I don't understand what it is . WHy is it a subscription? Isn't it on my computer and doesn't it include allthose utilities... It's not like it's an internet application that i have to longin to a site to use.
So how does it work. I can use it for 365 days and after that it won't work anymore forever? And none of the included programs( ShadowsFX,etc) will be useable?
Also i hope it doesn't automatically update my subscription and take more money from me without consent. There was no where where it said it would do that but usually things that are SUBSCRIPTIONS sometimes do that.
Thank you
PS I'm also reading in the threads that some users are unable to use some of the Utilities in Windows 10. I know Start8 won't work in Windows 10,,, but what about ShadowsFX, .
Also I have another question. There is a Product Key for Object Desktop but there is no Product Key for the included utilities. Is that gonna be ok?
Because when i bought the standalone Start8 when i had Win 8, it gave me a Product Key for Start8. But this time with Object Desktop I just get a Product Key for Object Desktop but not for any of the included utilities.
ok
ObjectDesktop isn't an app. It is a collection of apps that is cheaper than getting each app separately.
If you have purchased a subscription to ObjectDesktop, go to the link below, sign in with the email you used to purchase, then click My Downloads, near top right.

All the apps that come with ObjectDesktop will be there (see reply 2), along with your serial number with which to activate.
I advise that you do not use ObjectDesktopManager, it has a tendency to bork the installs.
Anytime you need to access your apps, here is where you'll find them.
I would also advise that you keep the downloaded app installers archived. This way, if anything gets retired, which does sometimes happen, you'll always have what you bought. In case you need to reinstall them.
The ObjectDesktop serial will be the only key you need. Use it with each app as it asks for it on install.
There will be no money taken from you without consent. If you choose to renew in a year, you control that. Your apps will still work if you don't renew, you just won't get the updates and other perks that come with a subscription. The subscription is a deal where you pay for a years worth of updates, you'll get early access to betas, etc.
Yes, what RedneckDude said...
See this list for Win10 compatibility:
https://forums.wincustomize.com/469524/page/1/
ShadowFX is listed as compatible.
I see what you did there......
When you sub ends do you still get minor updates and no major updates or no updates at all? say fences 3.5 comes out. Do i get that update?
Your subscription lasts for one year. During that time you will receive all updates free of charge. After the sub expires you will no longer receive the updates but keep all that you have. Keeping your subscription current will ensure that all of the apps stay up to date. And yes, the apps will still work.
Is this different from how individual items are purchased? Because honestly... I only wanted Start10 ($3.99) and Fences ($9.99) and said what the heck for all of them for $19.99. I already owned Modern Mix and a bunch of others from the Win 7 machine that i was about to decommission. IF the $14.98 would have gotten me lifetime updates, I think I made a mistake.
Updates for a year. There are no lifetime updates.
