I haven't changed my language settings, this didn't recur and after the game ended everything was back to normal. I was running b5.
With how much you play I'm honestly suprised you've never run into this bug before. It happens with any language, and was reported back in beta 4 I believe. You can speak commie though right?

the game pauses while calculating my bond rating.
This is a known issue that should be resolved in the new interface.
What is happening is that strings are being built on the server and are being sent over the network to the other players. In this case, the server was playing in Russian and building the strings in Russian and sending you the game messages in Russian. These strings should not be constructed on the server and instead should be constructed on the client for multiple reasons.
This issue will take some time to work out. Sorry about this.

No idea about the game pausing bug. I haven't seen it on our end. I will let Soren know about it because I haven't modified that stuff in a while.

I've just played this game which I didn't manage to record on video at the time but of which I did save the replay file. Played with blues via QM on today's next_version of beta 6.

In short, time seemed to flow half as fast as it normally does and the building animation of buildings appeared glitchy from both player's perspectives too, as the moving model of a building wouldn't fully land immediately as it would appear that it should.

I've played with gameslayer and blues today and the games with gameslayer were normal speed and with blues were slow. I and gameslayer are in west europe, and blues is in the USA. The sample size is a little low, but I believe the cause of the bug may may be related to the distance between us.
I fired up a few games in single player, all of them in slow motion as well. Had to switch to blazing speed.
The first example was probably a connectivity issue between you two, and the game decided to award victory to Cubit.
The second example is very strange... we will take a look.
I'm quite certain that the first example wasn't connectivity issues because gameslayer and I could still chat with each other even after the game paused and his final chat message to me indicated that he simply left at which point the game defaulted and granted me the win.

Sorry, didn't find the built-in attach option. Here's the link to archived Offworld folder, including the replay of the game I just finished on blazing speed. The replay speed is fine, but while I was playing it was twice as slow. In fact, replay's speed is completely unaffected by game speed. You can pause in-game but and the replay will keep going.

Thanks InSyncOTC! Those logs are helping me zero in on a fix. My current hunch is that the slow-down is caused by a bug in our update calculation which is amplified by certain framerates. I'll PM you to get you on our internal testing build.
I played Blues a couple times 1 on 1 in Beta 6 tonight both in quick match and just a 1v1 multiplayer game. Both times the game speed was very slow for some reason just like Cubit's experience. Both Blues and I are in the US. We had to quit both matches because everything was moving at what seemed like a glacial speed. We went back into beta 5 to play a quick match and everything was ok again.

Weirdly enough, when we played yesterday, the speed was normal while in SP I am only getting the snail speed.
We played several games in multiplayer that seemed like they were the normal speed. For some reason when it was 1v1 or quickmatch it slowed to a crawl.
So in FFA with Blues everything was fine? I played a bunch of QM yesterday and manually set 1v1 and 1 FFA - all normal. So far I've been getting the bug only in SP. So strange...
I've reported these issues to the developers.
I think I have narrowed in on the bug. It seems to be directly connected to the framerate of the host. I should have a fix ready for testing shortly. Thank you all for helping narrow the bug down!

Guess I'll answer here as well. Haven't been experiencing any slowness since last update. Maybe Blues can try and host a game in MP, where he had this problem and see if it's gone.
