Love DeskScapes! Early adopter so I upgraded my desktop Win 7 to Win 10 last night. System upgraded without an issue, works well so far with several driver updates. However, DeskScapes runs then freezes and goes to a black screen. Seems as if the system is defaulting back to a black screen picture. Any suggestions? No luck so far fixing the problem.
Thanks

Same here.
It ran well for about a week then : BAM! - whole system crashed. Reloaded Windows 10 with the warning that I can Never go back to 7. We'll see.
Can't get it to work any longer.
Someone suggested downloading a MPEG-2 program but even FFDSHOW(sp?) doesn't do it and It's the Gold Standard of codecs ...
REALLY looking forward to Stardock's reaction.
Deskscapes was my "in" to the whole Stardock Library.
@DeskScapes DevelopersI have a suggestion for the DeskScapes for Windows 10.in DeskScapes settings menu, can you please provide an options for:- don't dim the desktop (when we chose Tablet mode)- don't dim the start screen (applies to both Tablet mode and full screen start menu)so when we apply a video wallpaper we can see it clearly with all its vivid colors on both the desktop and the start screen.please provide us with these 2 options if possible, I know you guys can do miracles to Windows!thanks in advance and keep up the great work!Respectfully,Sam.
@Sam_10agree completelly!I hope deskscapes developers remove all these dim layers from the start screen and desktop "in case we chose tablet mode" or at least provide option for this, we should see our video wallpaper in all its glorious colors, and for those who wonder why we should remove the dim layer from the desktop too when we chose tablet mode, I pinned Rainmeter on start screen and when I click on it I can go to the desktop perfectly despite I'm on tablet mode, now imagine if you have such Apps like Rainmeter and you want to be on tablet mode for some reason like launching the WinRT Apps in full screen "you can't do this on full screen start menu" and you have deskscapes enabled on both your desktop and start screen it will be so awesome and super cool if you can see your video wallpaper in all its vivid colors instead of a dimmed version of it!finally I really hope deskscapes developers make this as a default behavior or at least provide an option for it.
the problem I have is dreams stopping when I open a fullscreen window. I only use hexican wave, it works fine when I apply it, but open a window and bam its frozen. it will stay that way until I re-apply it. I thought the new beta would fix this but no it doesn't. help please. (I have an mpeg2 codec installed.)
Dreams by default will pause when a fullscreen window is open, but should resume when the fullscreen window is no longer fullscreen.
There is an option in settings to disable this too.
but wouldn't that keep it running during gaming decreasing performance..... your settings idea worked but I don't want it to effect gaming, though I'm on a pretty powerful rig. also if I pause deskscapes and try to resume it remains frozen.
Neil got it. It is that option to pause on full screen apps that no longer works correctly on windows 10. I turned that off and also the automatically pause when on battery power and now the random pausing issue is resolved and the erratic pause deskcape option on the context menu getting greyed out inexplicably is also resolved
