Thing is.....the game is great for sure........but what I find best about Anno 2070 is actually the game's UI. I have played so many (too many) RTS/Strategy games in my life with (by comparison) absolutely horrible UI's so I just had to pause playing to post about it.
UBI / BlueByte have done something really right with Anno 2070 and I hope it continues in Anno 2205. The UI is fluid and informative without drowning you in unnecessary information. I'm finding anything/everything I want/need is usually no more than 1-2 clicks away (many times a mouse over will in fact suffice).
This UI is for me among a few where I actually find myself forgoing hot-keys for a quick click/mouse over.
So....I'm sorry I haven't actually posted anything about the gameplay of Anno 2070. Suffice it to say a tight UI can make even the most dreary task seem less so....
I agree, anno2017 is a joy to experience. I do love civ4, Distant worlds universe, etc. Anno is a wonderful change of pace, requires thinking, but is so easy on the eyes and to play.
Yeah the game is definitely easy to pick up but what I found really satisfying is that it has so much depth/complexity that isn't immediately apparent. The campaign (tutorial) doesn't explain the half of it........for me the game really began in 'continuous mode' and/or the online 'domination mode'.
A lot of depth to explore in Anno 2070 (not unlike the rest of the series).
