Hello Brothers and Sisters of the Gal Civ 3 Modding Community!!! Welcome to the Ultimate One-Stop-Shop to find all your favorite Sci-Fi Races and Ship Sets to use in your own custom game of Galactic Civilizations 3!!! I'm sure most or all of these will be added to the Steam Workshop, but, I think there should be a pinned Master List here on the game's official forums as well.This idea was formerly known as "Raven's Ultimate Sci-Fi War Mod" but I quickly realized everyone else would be working on and wanting most of the same things I will as well, and that many of us only want cosmetic changes, custom race pictures, and new ship sets, without any other modded special abilities. This post will be split into two posts (the next reply below) so we also don't leave out those who have created totally new races and factions from pure imagination not out of any of our favorite shows. If you'd like yours added to this thread just reply below and I will add yours into the appropriate category. This list is short right now but we'll be adding to it, no fear.

I will happily add all custom races and factions as long as they are from any established Sci-Fi show, movie, book series, you name it. No matter how silly or how rare one's choice may be. We might not all want the same races from every show and this thread will give us all the ability to pick and choose the ones we want from their respective posts/threads. This thread is only meant to be a stickied list so we can keep track of those most Scf-Fi fans will want and to have a easy go to reference without needing to wade through the entire history of the modding forums. Steam Workshop may make this redundant at some point, but at least for now and maybe even after that it will continue to be a valuable community resource. This is still a work in progress thread and will be so for the foreseeable future. if you can't download anything what good is this. Star trek had a race where they couldn't communicate with anyone even with universal trAnslaters. Voyager had a dinosaur race. Aliens. Et. Hammerhead from star wars. I also would like to see custom factions not just tv factions. Good idea. Not so good idea without a link to download anything.

Mass effects and Dr Who are broken for 1.03. You must roll back to 1.02 to use them.

Sounds like a decent enough idea. Thanks for adding mine to the list. One of these days I'll probably clean it up and make it more of a proper mod. Also gonna have to keep an eye out on those three XMLs to see if SD patches anything in them that I might want to throw in as well.
Yes nicw work, and it will be work to keep this up to date. You know this will become obsolete with workshop, but who knows when that will be. (est is this month)

I am awaiting more information from Franco about this, but It's worth noting that Doctor Whoniverse may not work in conjunction with other mods. Due to certain limitations in the current way galciv3 allows modders to add certain content, several base files are modded. Any other mod attempting to modify the same files will likely cause a conflict. It is my guess that this may be the root of the problem. I have done testing on 1.03 and am unable to locate any issues at this time. Hopefully I will speak with Franco and figure out why it is not working for him.

I had to pause in the cake making that is currently going on over here to post this.
I believe this should probably be sticky-ed though I wonder about the usefulness of sticky-ing this because of workshop.
Although I could see this still being useful with mods that don't work on workshop or aren't transferred over there.

Thanks everyone for your support. A sticky may not be needed now however. Looking at the top Modding Section drop-down we now have 3 new sections of the Modding forums. They even followed by break-down template some .
