I just wanted to post about the hacker array. Getting one early and just repeatedly shorting something and building more and more factories for it will just give and insane advantage in late-mid and late game. It is super powerful if it is not being actively countered by someone with a hacker array or people aren't emp'ing all your factories all day. It's not too hard to get the price of something over 1000 which with factories for it will just end the game super fast.
Perhaps a chance of failure for the hack? Punishment for getting caught? Higher prices for the hack?

The price of a hack gets higher the more you hack, and the amount a hack affects the game increases the more players there are in a game. Those balance poitns seem fine to me, especially when the logical comparison to a hacker array is an offworld, which almsot always provides just so much more.
The hacker array seems a little bit behind the patent lab/offworld/ebay, but both of those require more investment.
The offworld market usually never seems worth it to me. Unless there is just tons of resources and everything is low priced the return just doesn't make it worth it.
Patents and engineering are very map dependent but it seems the hacker array can be too abused.
I would love to play some OTC online. haven't gotten into an online game yet. Maybe I'm only on during the low population times or something.

This is why you think this. The AI doesn't handle surpluses/shorts very well so its free money. Humans, however, do, which makes the hacker array worse and risky.
