We have an opt-in preview version of Beta 3 up right now on Steam. Please help us test it out by switching to the branch and testing out the version.
PLEASE NOTE: You will only be able to play multiplayer games with other players on the next_version branch. Players who have the regular version will be invisible.
Any chance for a high level changelog? I understand we'd be doing general stability/regression testing but is there anything in particular we should pay attention to as updated?
What's new with the update?
Definitely going to try it out, but I wish you'd post a list of changes so we can see how certain things have changed. Makes testing a lot easier.
EDIT: Looks like when you load it they show some of the changes. I barely see any gameplay changes though. There are a lot of minor tweaks for graphics and other settings, but outside of "can not found a colony within 4 hexes of another" and "all adjacent hexes to a colony are immune to other players' claims for 60 seconds" there wasn't much listed. Maybe I'm missing something in the list or it simply isn't posted.
We will post a changelist when we can. Wanted to get this version up as soon as possible for people willing to try it.

Gameplay
Reveal Map is now a game mode. Map is revealed, but players who found early will be saddled with a great deal of debt compared to those who wait.
No dust storms before founding a HQ.
During buyout, other players with stock in the bought-out company get 1x the money instead of 2x the money.
Cannot found HQs within 4 tiles of each other
Tiles adjacent to HQs cannot be claimed by other players for 60 seconds after founding
Adjusted starting resource prices
Robotic HQs require less electronics.
Random is the default map type in skirmish. Enjoy the stochasticity!
Fixing screen fade on load when the game is initially paused.
Fixed buildings not working correctly with buyouts.
Fixed not being able to play final mission in campaign
Fixed bug with Goon Squads on mutinied tiles not working

Better popup help to assist in learning and understanding the campaign.

In a multiplayer lobby, you can become an observer by changing your team to “observer”

Audio
Used ogg compression at 95% to get the sound files smaller.

All the game text is ready for localization. We will be rolling out new languages for the game in upcoming releases.

Though, "Faster & better AI", like really? That does not sound good to me at all ... ^^

New build is up. The only change is that observers don't have to "ready up" for the host to start a game.

I feel like AI found way too fast now. Sometimes an ai has already founded before I even load into the game.
Also I think 60 seconds is too long to protect tiles around your HQ. If you haven't claimed what you want after say 20 seconds, you probably aren't going to claim it at level one. And it just delays everyone else if you claim next to a bunch of Aluminium. Having to wait that long is a huge bummer.
