After 90 turn I have awful slowdown of the "calculating of turn". After finishing of all activities and pushing "turn", i must wait all calculating for 1 minute or more. Only 60 turnes in hour is too long for strategic game.
"Low preferences", reinstalling of game and other my measures didn't decide problem.
Core i5 4670, 8 Gb, NVIDIA 650Ti, Win 8.1. all updates for OS and videocard are installed.

This is the best instance of customer support i have ever seen . Kudos to Frog
AWESOME!
I'll try to make sure this gets into next week's 1.01 build.
Happy to hear it works for you, didn't for my issue though created ticket though..
Thanks! Now is 234 turn. Everything is ok. I'll wait for build 1.01.
Go ahead and send me your save and I can check it out.
I created a ticket I thank you if you want to, however you don't have to, no hard feelings I posted it up in this post, here it is at the current spot.

This is glorious... I snagged that new .exe and it fixed my slow downs completely. I'm churning through an insane size map with 10 second turn times...
Wow! This was the most awesome thread I've ever seen in a Support forum, across any game, ever. You got one of the lead game devs to personally fix your game for you, and what it fixed will help us all. Good job, Vlad. Big thanks, Frogboy.
Now that you mention it, my game has been chugging along a bit too... and the sound effects are starting to not play at all during combat. Specifically, the game hangs for several seconds whenever I try to zoom in, zoom out, or scroll around the map.

LET'S FIX ALL THE THINGS!
Yeah pirates are a definite load hog I killed them for my second game and loading times significantly reduced, even with my beastly 4.0GHz 8 core and 16GB of RAM and 2GB of dedicated graphics RAM it was still lagging.
Yeah my last 100 turns of my last game had no SFX just music, the rest of the sounds kept breaking, I think its because there is no system memory left to process sounds, I was spiking over 80% memory usage even with 16GB of RAM
I was going to post something similar about this awesome support thread. You do know that Frogboy is The Man (i. e. the CEO of Stardock) ?
This is what makes Stardock really really special.
You are the best, Frog !

Wow Brad, that is some awesome work
Why would a lot of Pirates cause such a big slowdown before and what did Brad fix?

Unfortunately, that save game isn't compatible with the current version of the game.
Working on a new one unfortunately it take 7-10 hours of game time usually to get an insane map with that many players to the point where I start seeing the slow down especially with exploration treaties with many different races. Right now I have about 6 hours of game time in and I'm at about 1-1 1/2 minutes per turn right now on that new game created after 1.0. I will have my ticket hopefully updated by the end of the day.
Thanks for that information, however, with those long games it takes so long to get that far into the game to start seeing these issues that you have a new version out by then and then say the older saved games aren't supported .
You all still do great work, and very happy with all you and your company does with support.
And then you say that most people play tinny/small maps
ive been playing since alpha and i dont think ive finished a game yet just because of updates
+1 have not completed a game either, I prefer the largest possible maps, and through beta I always started new, however, when release beta 6 version was released I figured I was safe. Hopefully I can get to that point though. I do understand it though and why it is that way it's just frustrating that's all.
Sadly, most play only small maps. Our data is based on games Started. Not games completed. If it was games completed I'm sure it would be even more stacked.
I don't know if that is sad per say. Small maps provide an aggressive challenge where you have to fight for land, where every system is precious, and you really have to balance early warfare with expansion.
I think its just a better experience for most players, not knocking you insane lovers of course:)
Both ways are fun, I do play smaller maps as well but, I've always preferred the largest possible, mainly because on the small maps once I get going and win, I want to continue and don't want to start over, so I prefer long big games so I can just continue a long time.
Truthfully what I wish for and I haven't found anything like it is the following.
Start a game on a small map, beat the map, continue where you left off by just expanding the map with (either human or AI) already in place on the expanded parts for you to continue on, beat that (expand the same way) repeat until you've expanded to the max. To me this would be a great tournament type multiplayer game keeping the individual games down to 2-4 players but yet expanding and continuing as players get knocked off.
I know it would take too much time and effort to attempt to build that into a game for a small portion that would actually use it but, I always thought that would be neat.
Here is my current game started in v. 1.0 and now has 8 hours on this game. It's not as bad yet on this one as the previous game posted but, it's also not as far into the game.
right now turns are taking ruffly between 1 1/2 minutes per turn to 2 minutes per turn.

added info to ticket # SAR-985-39375
If it's going by Games Started, then it makes sense that people have started more Small and Tiny games -- Huge games and above take much longer to complete, and if people are setting everything to Easy Mode, people are learning the game, and they're probably constantly quitting and starting a new game once they realize what they were doing wrong before. I'm an experienced beta tester, so I've started one game since release on Gigantic, and I'm still playing it. I love it. I'll make a new game when I finish, dammit.
Good to see the same service from Brad that i have come to expect after being around Stardock for over 9 years.Nice to see the more things change the more they stay the same.
