one thing i like to do is create a ship design per role. for example a kinetic weapons tiny fighter. then i like o just periodically update that design to the next version where i put better shit on it ect. the problem im having is that after about 100 turns i have 3 or 4 different models of fighter in one fleet and in order to upgrade them i have to select the fleet, select the ship then upgrade them 1 ship at a time. i would like the option to be able to upgrade all fighter mark 2s to mark 5 ect.

also the old option of getting to use financing would be fun again. in gal civ 2 if u couldnt afford to upgrade your ships for 6000 bc and needed to borrow the 6k they would let you select from a few options for financing and making payments per turn til its paid off.
