You get 8 books to start with - what are your favorites and why?
I've been trying out:
- 7x Chaos
- 1x Enchant
All Enchant
All Chaos
Still tinkering about though.
I do not know. The only spells I use reguarly so far:
- Heal
- Wellspring (if I get it)
- Place road (at least in beta 4, not so much in beta 5 as it is useless now)
- Cloudwalk
- Pillar of flame
- Aura of Grace
- Aura of Vitality
- Natural Bounty
- Enchanted hammer
- The last city production spell
- Tireless march
- Tutelage
- Summon ship (sometimes depending on the map)
- Blizzard (way better than fireball at least in b4)
- Firewall in place of Blizzard
- Haste
- Flame dart
Other spells I have not seen the need or they do not provide enough of an incentive to use. Why would I wan to use Warriors Might with so few spell casts during battle. Better save them for heal or flame dart.
I think it would be nice to have more information about which spells are avaialable with the different book combinations. At the time of Sovereign customization, choosing spell books it is mostly a blind choice. Yes, players can figure which kind of spells will be available with their choice, and the more they play the more accurate their forecast will be, but a bit more of information would be very useful.
What I am thinking is a text saying something like "With this spell books combination, the following spells may appear for research:" and then the full list of the spells matching the selected books.
All enchants. They have a lot powerful and useful spells.
The only useful spells from other (non-base) books are summon ship and blizzard and the latter is accesible from scrolls.
I would like to see a small icon at each spell description symbolizing the book they belong to. This way you can associate spells with particular books or make a list in the hiergamon-thingy.
There are icons at the bottom of descriptions)
