I really need to stop spending money. Unfortunately for me I am a complete RTS junkie. As of today I have joined the Founders program and really look forward to playing the game as soon as the Alpha is released to us.
Yeah, I'm guilty of the same. Got this in my e-mail and had a nerd-freakout and hit buy. Looks like a lovechild of SupCom and Sins... and that makes me want to tear up and hug Stardock. Also a Founder of GalCiv3 though for the same reason so... maybe I'm just a Stardock fanboy at this point.

Me too as above saw the email and couldn't resist a 64bit sins / sup com love child.
Anyone know now when us founders get to try it ? Do we get much input or is it just to find bugs or none of the above ?

Well I saw this and though dang an upgrade to Supreme Commander, looking forward to this, hopefully modding is also taken into consideration.
Supreme Commander was a lot about base building as well though and I am not quite sure how much base building ashes is supposed to have. Only a "units magically spawn in and you go and control spots on the map" would be kinda .... well dunno I like basebuilding.
I imagine it will be like sins, you build factory's which you can then build units from.
The screenshots do show structures of some kind. So I would assume from these screens that you can build facilities.
I am not sure wether this entails full base building mechanics, it might be that you build your economy on the strategic layer rather than on the strategic layer, but at least they show some buildings on the screenshots.
