Does the Quickfire ability nerf damage? The next battle after I selected the Quickfire ability (and every battle I've fought since), my hero has been doing very little damage. Before, he was doing 14-16 damage, and could wipe out weak groups of enemies. Now he does 1-2 damage and is basically useless.
With Drogan the Dwarf (the Tinkerer's hero), when he gets a certain beast skill his damage halves. This might be because the game is seeing "does 50% damage" rather than "does 150% damage". Anyway, maybe something similar is happening with the ranger.
Just fixed both of these earlier in the week, ironically Quickfire had all sorts of issues, and Drogan's 'Beastmaster' ability was hooked up just like Steven said - 50% damage instead of 150%.Thanks!
Do you intend to release a smaller fix for the minor bugs (not a beta 5) or will you wait until beta 5.
Probably wait...it takes precious time to get a stable Hot Fix out the door, so I think we're just going to put that energy into making Beta 5 as awesome as possible.Keep the bugs coming, though!
Regarding Beta 5
Will we see revised skill trees for the remaining sovereigns (guardians, priest, commander, tyrant, wizard) and their heroes. I still think that ex. Varda is kind of weak compared to Drogon.Likeweise with Peregrin (although I havent tried him since Beta 2).
Will we also see revised spell description, effect and cost. I still do not understand why Fallen Star cost 150 mana (and this is an increase from Beta 3, 134 mana). I mean it deals something like 18 damage plus something x*Shard, while Pillar of Flame cost 10 mana and deals 10 damage + xx*shard.
The plan is that Beta 5 will have a balance / design pass on Heroes, Sovereigns, Spells, Improvements, etc.Wizard tree and the original three champions (Tandis, Varda, and Keplin) in particular need lovin', but everything will be looked over and tweaked as necessary.
Do you want suggestions/improvements for the sovereigns and heroes?
If yes, would it be possible to get some insights into how the Stardock sees the wizard for example: purpose, what feeling should the player get when playing wizard vs. guardian.
For example do you see the wizard as the stereotype wizard with a filt hat, gray beard and a long white staff, or more like a warlock type. Do you see the wizard as a sovereign, who should be focused on magic (better spell casting, better spell resistance, better/more/advanced spell, better mana gathering, better overland/strategic spells etc. )
Yup, they have asked for any ideas we have regarding sovereigns & heroes trees/skills. Particularly the starting special ability e.g. hypnotize.
I bet they would be happy for your thoughts on this
