Trying to enjoy Beta .7 but can't. I'm getting locked in a turn anywhere between 180-340 turns in. Go back, reload, locks at same point.
I have purged the game from my hard disk, reloaded and reloaded C++. Nothing works. Please tell me you have a solution. Can't play this game the way it is. This issue has been reported multiple times based on my brief scan of the forums. Please fix it. Thanks.

Right click GalCiv3 in Steam, go to Properties, then select Betas on the far right. After that click the drop down and try out the next hotfix patch. It is in testing, as are all patches, but we're the front-load testers this early version of the patch.

Damn, opt in patch didn't work for my game....... by the time the game gets the kinks worked out I'm going to be a master at the early game.
I tried a new game and at the point it would usually stop it paused for a second then continued on. Try a new game?

I definitely will but I have to admit I am becoming a little bit discourage that I am not able to see the end game. I don't think I have passed turn 300 in any of my 10 or so games I have started.
Think of it as perfecting your early game... but with how it is now it is definitely pointing you in playing a specific way
Just reporting that I DL the hotfix. Started a new game... got past Turn 370. Feeling pretty good. Perfection until turn 430, then I was frozen again at WAIT. Tried to reload an autosave, hung at turn 430 again.
Had to head out to do some errands, so I closed the game down successfully, or so I thought. Noticed that GalCivIII was still running in the task manager, even though it was closed from the game's main menu. Used task manager to "end task".
So, I may have been able to play more with the hotfix, it still hung up on me less than 100 turns later with the update. Running the game on immense with all races, with normal AI.
I'm experiencing the same problem. The turn just never finishes processing. I can't get past ~185 turns though. Have already opted in for .71, and still have the issue
Then you can save the game, then load and the game will go. and so over and over because too few turns will happen again. If the game does not start after loading try again
Does not fix it. Guys go for it. The other bogs are Kinda minor now. It neednt be perfect but playable. Does it help you if i submitted a ticket ^^?
Go for the opt-in patch all. You can at least surpass any hangs with a save and reload. I have experience 2 CTD's in about 12 hangs all around turns 340 to 380. Plus, any additional information generated from the DMP's and ZIPs you can submit to Stardock will get this issue cleared up faster.
Just a small update. Was able to sit down again today and play a bit more. I was able to reload a save, but it was 2-3 saves... about 25 turns earlier, and it worked. Played pretty quickly (universe is at peace, planets developed, focusing on catching up on some military research). Was able to sail through about 125 turns quickly, manually saving every 3-6 turns or so. Then, hang again at turn 636. Going back to prior saves, could not get the game to advance past 636. Shut it down. Cleared the task manager. Ran again. Still stuck on turn 636 trying multiple saves.
No luck resuming the game, so I've put it aside for now. May try to play again after the Super Bowl.

We see this issue all the time in multiplayer even with the new patch. I'm not sure as save will help though since it works fine again for a while after saving and reloading.(with one exception that I uploaded to a support case a little while back..though it was beta4 pre patch)
We have discovered that, in multiplayer anyway, it seems tied to having one person in a subscreen when the other person ends his turn. It then doesn't successfully really end the turn. By talking on skype and ensuring this doesn't happen we dont get the wait state issue(though we do still get crashes occasionally) except when we have a comm break down and do it anyway.
