First of all, thanks to everyone who has joined the Sorcerer King Early Access beta. Your feedback is hugely appreciated.
As developers, one of the most frustrating things is to see the people who enjoy your game shouted down by drive-bys from people who haven’t played it.
The new Steam paradigm makes community involvement more important than ever. If you are so moved, the team would really appreciate anything you choose to do over there.
If you like Sorcerer King, there are a couple things you can do on Steam that would help the game out tremendously.
Note that we would never, ever ask for fluffy or dishonest reviews, tags, or anything else. If we haven’t earned your upvote/review/recommendation yet, that’s okay! We’d appreciate it if you’d tell us what we could do to earn your enthusiasm, though.
As a side note, tweet us @stardock if you do any YouTubes, streams, blogs, or any other Sorcerer King thing and we’ll give any high-quality stuff a shout-out on our official Twitter/Facebook/Twitch/forums/etc. We love to spotlight stuff like this from our community. (“High-quality” meaning production values – non-blurry cams, understandable audio, etc – not being uncritically positive about the game. We probably won’t retweet trolls, but we’re big kids and can handle criticism where it’s warranted.)
Thanks again for your support.
Done as DevildogFF, though it's being down voted to oblivion. I don't understand people sometimes.
I cannot find your review. What is your Steam username?
As I stated in my PREVIOUS POST it's written by Devildogf!
Haha! I thought you've meant "I made a review just like (other dude) DevildogFF". English is not my first language
Your review is thumbed-up by 8 users and thumbed-down by 4 users. It's not downvoted to oblivion
Meh. I've promoted the game on one of the least forgiving forums there is (CanardPC) and even managed to generate some interest towards this game. But I don't think giving positive reviews to this game at this stage is a good thing (I'm not saying negative reviews are more appropriate ). It's at the stage where the game shows a lot of potential, but it's very much an early access, and I think Stardock has the financial spine to survive if people wait for release and a polished game. Encouraging anyone but the most dedicated fans of the genre and of Stardock 4Xes until then seems risky and counterproductive to me.
Just for the record, Sorcerer King like all Stardock games is fully funded and not relying on Early Access for funding.
Yea, I think the argument that Stardock does early access for the revenue is one of the allegations that annoys me the most.
We have always done betas specifically so that people have a chance to put in their 2 cents on what things they'd like. Starbases in GalCiv came from the beta testers.
In Sorcerer King, the beta testers have already given us a lot of new features we want to have. For example, I'm adding in the concept of "Player Threat" for the Sorcerer King which will affect his behavior towards the player.
The one negative review on the Steam forums that really annoys me is the one by the guy who really has no idea what Sorcerer King is about or where it's going but talks as if he does.
That's one of the things I really dislike about the new Steam discoverability. Why have paid reviewers when some guy who's barely played the game can trash it on the front of the store page? Is Steam a game site or is it Amazon.com?
I will write a review on Steam just as soon as I can. It will be positive as I am really enjoying the game.
In the meantime, here is a link to my somewhat inept Let's Play on the 'ol Youtubes:

It is 5 episodes long (and growing) but it could use some more views!
I watched the videos and have enjoyed them.
I don't comment on Youtube, though. I don't like some of their policies.
Do you have a Twitter account you post those to?

Thanks for watching; I am having a blast making them and embarrassing myself with my absent minded professor style of play!
I'm afraid that I am a bit of a grognard and don't use twitter much... My wife is my only follower and I think that is just to be polite. But what if I did do such a thing?
Edit: For what it's worth, I tweeted the first episode of it: https://twitter.com/marlowe221/status/519964967311650816
I am @marlowe221.
I will hold off till the November features are in. Sov customization, SK interference in battles, minor faction interplay... these are major 'variety' factors in my view.
This.
Just to be clear, I have faith, and the previews Frogboy gives all sound great - but I'll wait till they're actually in the game first
