Hi,
I have not played in about a year and thought now that 1.6 got released it would be a good time to play again. I do like this game!
Before I was playing with Children of Storm and a custom mod someone created for me that made monuments give stationed units +1xp a turn.
I do like playing challenging games!
Recommendations & feedback appreciated.
Thanks.
Monuments XP should still work fine with 1.6: [eMOD] Monuments XP v1 mod.
A similar concept was also incorporated into the XTra Mod compilation by Primal Savage. Primal has been rather prolific with his modding since he burst on the scene.
Don't bother with my quests (Old Friend/Plains Of Sirius), as they haven't been updated. I've been waiting for the chance to update to 1.6 and then try to finish those/get them working the way I had envisioned.
I'm still a fan of Parrotmath's Snaking and River Bridge mods. He has a few other mods as welll that are worth a look.
Lots of different directions to take these days. Of course, some mods may need to be updated before you can use them with 1.6, so you may want to give the modders a few days to catch up.
I'm sure others will chime in shortly. There are some AI Buff and City Defense mods that I think help quite a bit, again give the modders/authors a chance to test drive them in 1.6 and 'certify' them.
Black Market Bazaar has some fun items in it, assuming it is 1.6 compatable.

Thanks tjashen,
That reminds me, I do need a good City Defense Mod. When I was playing I edited the files myself to double the guards, since it was so easy to take AI cities over in the beginning. But it's been a while and I won't know what files to edit now.
Any one know of a good City Defense mods that work with 1.6?

Going through the available mods, these are the ones I MUST play with (in no particular order):
- Parrotmath's Snaking mod -- imo, a must if you have manual building placement enabled.
- Tjashen's Monuments XP mod -- makes having heros/units posted in your city actaully worthwhile.
- Hellions Champion Bonanza mod -- more equals better in this case.
- Hellions Black Market Bazaar mod -- more equals better in this case. (better than DLC3 imo)
- Attackdrones Outpost Upgrades mod -- more equals better in this case. (I just wish the AI used them too)
Going through the available mods, these are the ones I don't need but most certainly enjoy playing with (again, no particular order):
- Parrotmath's River Bridge mod -- Nice nice detail and design for city building.
- Brich1212's Path of the Ranger mod -- To have that next option for hero levelups. Very good mix of abilities, though perhaps a tad op.
- GFireflyE's Unique City Defenders mod -- Giving city combat some extra, needed, flavor in lieu of the lack of siege warefare. (note that I have not tested this for 1.6....should work though)
- Dhuran's Necromancy Revamped mod -- Very good mix of abilities and path levelups. (Better than DLC4 imo)
- Primal Savage's Additional Events mod -- increasing difficulty of monsters in the late game.
Mods that I have not yet tried, but intend to once I spool up LH again:
- Davrovana's Path of the Paladin mod
- Davrovana's Level 6 and 7 Cities mod
abob101's Demons and Wizards mod is awesome, also a tremendous fan of dsraider's Blood and Mana mod. Have to see if they are compatible at some point.
Also agree with the above postings on other mods.
If you are willing to muck around in core files, take a look at webusver's mod.
They are not compatible without quite a bit of tweaking (IIRC) due to these mods changing similar things. I think when I merged them (for my own use) I ran into particular problems with the mages upgrade path which both had modded.
Thanks for saving me the time! Guess i'll have to make several different mod folders and rename them and copy and paste them as my tastes change.
I do know webusver made a version of D&W compatible with his work.
I like immersion mod - hero level much faster (Otherwise take forever to do so)
sadly, it seems not working with 1.6
