Looks very interesting. Will have to check out some reviews when I get home today. Not saying it'll replace LH....but it may quench my 4x thirst until LH 2.0 is released...
I had already read all the reviews and stuff a couple weeks ago when someone mentioned the game. I had almost bought it at full price then but held back on the premise that I have already tons of games to play.
But seeing it at 75% was impossible to resist. I just love 4x games.
I have been waiting to pick it up cheap myself. It's not a LH beater, but it's a very good game and well worth the price of a bag of potatoes.
I bought the main game and used my blue coins to get the dlc, so I got myself the bargain of the year.

LH is the only exception because I bought the game before it required steam to play and I trust that SD will offer the game still if steam goes under. Can't say the same for other distributers.
I used to hate Steam, I boycotted them for years. But I have changed my mind lately. When you think about it they have done some great things, and they fixed a lot of the stuff I did not like about the client.
They are also pushing Linux forward into the game market.
So they get my approval now.
They'll get my approval if the player can choose to not require steam to start games. Obviously multiplayer would be off the table, but I can live with that as I play single player games.
Just a heads up... the final armageddon DLC for this game might actually ruin the fun for you. I suggest disabling it if you can until you get bored with the main game.
Well, I just tried the game for 10 min. And while it seems like it could be lots of fun.
The camera and scrolling controls seem.... HORRIBLY BROKEN.
Basically all you can do is scroll from the edge of screen, or click somewhere on the mini map.
The edge scrolling is snail pace so completely usesless, and I cannot see any options to change it anywhere in the game.
All I am left to do is click on the mini map to move around quickly. You cannot even drag the window on the mini map, all you can do is click somewhere.
There is no Drag scrolling like in about every other similar game. Clicking/double clicking on a unit does not even center camera on it.
I have no idea why the devs would have left the camera controls in the game in such a terrible broken condition. I cannot play a game like that.
Please someone tell me that there is a Patch, mod or hidden setting to fix those craps?
i did a quick search and found nothing. Maybe we should look on 34th street?
Well, I just posted on the Game website forum. Ill wait and see if there is something getting posted back.
I also had terrible flickering in the pictrure. I had to completely disable shadows for it to stop.
There is also a lot of tearing with no V-sync option. I will have to fix this through my windows main video card settings I guess.
If I can:
-Get the game to work in borderless window mode
-Get the shadows without flickers
-Apply V-sync
-Find a way to boost the side scrolling speed
Then maybe this will become bearable but this game is definitely on the buggy side.
I am having none of the above problems EvilMax. I haven't tried to run the game in a borderless window, but the graphics and scrolling run perfect to me.
