When I open a photoshop file, it appears blank when I'm using WindowBlinds. When I use the basic Windows theme, it's normal.
UPDATE: Works with graphics driver disabled (but keeping it disabled is not an option).
(I'd provide a picture, but it's literally just Photoshop open with nothing in it except the file open and a dark grey screen.)
I paid for Windowblinds, and then upgraded to Object Desktop a few days ago, and I can't use it? It's a upsetting that there's a timer on the amount of days left I have to use Object Desktop even though I can't use it without having ridiculously mismatched themes. (Like, I'm not using a fancy dock with Metro theme.)
Is there any workaround or fix for this?

.
Also, one other problem:
Above is dream loricae by bingxueling, my favourite theme, and the only one I use since the rest are either not my taste, or too impractical. My screen resolution on this new computer is Windows 8.1, resolution: 1920 x 1080. I'm not willing to change it. Does anyone know how I can alter the top bar (make it shorter horizontally) there to line up with the menu? I opened up the .tga file in Paint.NET and SkinStudio, but the actual length of the top bar is much shorter than it appears on my screen. That must mean WindowBlinds is extending it too far? How do I fix that, if it's fixable?
The "shut down" button is terribly upscaled, but I can fix that (probably).
My drivers are up to date. WindowBlinds is at its latest version. Yes, there's another thread with photoshop bugs. This problem is different.
edit: Yes, I aleady tried excluding the 64x app in the list, and that was the version I'm using. I should add that Photoshoop CS5 worked fine on my other computer, which is Windows 7 and has the same WindowBlinds theme.
edit2: I used Revo to completely uninstall WB along with wiping certain registry keys, and Photoshop worked with the basic Echo theme. I installed dream loricae theme, and that worked too (at least at first--it hecks up again if I even touch the colour options). But when I went to transfer over the files for the customized version I made of dream loricae (all I did was recolour it and changed fonts and colour schemes), it stopped working again. After several hours, I figured out that themes that tamper with custom system colours mess up Photoshop right away. But as soon as I activated dream loricae, and switched back to a simpler theme like Echo, Photoshop will no longer work with any theme except default Aero. But even with the changed system colours, if I disable my graphics card in photoshop, pictures show up in Photoshop again.
EDIT3: Fixed. Instead of excluding Photoshop, I checked "skin this even if it uses Direct3D" or whatever, and it worked. Thank you, forum denizen!
NOPE. After checking "skin this even if it uses Direct 3D", the menus don't pop up anymore. :/ If I open the "image size" window, no window pops up, and Photoshop is disabled, and I have to exit the program through task manager. Photoshop is still unusable with Windowblinds. Also, the top of the start menu still doesn't line up.
I tried excluding my driver, but I can't find the file to exclude.
Ahh, yeah. = _= dream loricae is SUPER old. (cries) Sadly, it's the only theme I'd use because the other ones are too impractical or are difficult to read with.Next time I'll customize the colours on other themes first before trying loricae.
I had to custom recolour it because the colour was too dark. If I use smart recolour and brighten it, it brightens the blacks too, and ruins the theme.
....Next time I'll just reboot instead of wipe and re-install (lol). I'm an idiot. *facepalm*
Sleeeeep. I'll do that tomorrow. It's 4:30am already... (yawn)
After being told to wait for the next release which may have patches for this problem, I've upgraded, but nothing has changed and the problem persists.
My money is being wasted. :'( I'm subscribed to Object Desktop, so the longer I wait, the less days I have left with it. I haven't bothered using anything else but Fences, since I need to pick the metaphorical wallpaper and furniture before I hang up the small ornaments.
Anyone? Can anyone help at all? If someone could help me figure out if I have to exclude the driver executables too, and if so, which ones? (I tried most of them. Didn't work...)
I've spent a LOT of effort trying to figure this out, mostly on my own. I've diagnosed this for days on end with no luck. Most importantly, I noticed that the problem comes up when either 1) the theme changes the system colours (or so, I think?) and 2) my graphics processor is enabled in Photoshop (keeping it disabled is not an option). Using a theme with 1) with my graphics processor in Photoshop disabled works fine. Keeping my graphics processor enabled while using default Aero, Photoshop works fine.
I use Photoshop on nearly a daily basis. Switching Windowblinds on and off constantly is not a good solution nor a workaround.
Ok when you excluded PS did you go directly to the actual file in the adobe PS folder in programs? or did you exclude a short cut? It has to be the actual exe in the "adobe PhotoShop" folder, Generally located in C:/programs/Adobe/Photoshop... Also did you check the (" total exclusion " Ignore this app and do not skin it) box in the exclusion window? that has to be checked to totally exclude that exe.
Also try excluding all executable files that are in the Photoshop folder, some times programs especially Graphics programs run separate exe's within them selves and can mess with the exclusion. I had to do this to stop WB from skinning Comodo firewall as it had multiple exe files running, they did not play well together..
Hopefully this helps..
Yes, I skinned the actual program instead of the shortcut. No, there are no other excecutables that needed to be excluded.
:'( Still nothing. Stardock hasn't emailed me in forever, too.
I have it logged in our internal system but do not have any updates at this time for you Baniita.
Not sure if this is still going but I just fixed the problem by instead of telling to Ignore the application, telling it to "Skin this app even if it uses Direct3D (3D app for example) and everything is looking fine right now. Hopefully this helps ^.^
I could bloody kiss you right now.
THANK YOU EGADS
That fixed it. thankyouthankyouthankyou
Another problem popped up. (read latest post)
Thanks for your helpful reply, shadow10051
NOPE. After checking "skin this even if it uses Direct 3D", the menus don't pop up anymore. :/ If I open the "image size" window, no window pops up, and Photoshop is disabled, and I have to exit the program through task manager. It doesn't matter what custom theme I use. Photoshop is still unusable with Windowblinds.
Also, the top of the start menu still doesn't line up.
Baniita: It certainly is usable...just not on your system.
You should return to the start. Reset your Photoshop to default preferences (after backing up your own and renaming them .bak).
Do the same for Windowblinds. Then, under exceptions put in Bridge.exe and Photoshop.exe (32 and 64 bit) by using the per application settings in Windowblinds and check to see if that fixed it.
btw, please post your "About windowblinds".
I never said it doesn't work on any other systems.
I've reset Windowblinds a million times, and there's 0 point to resetting both apps. : | It's an issue because my driver and Windowblinds are conflicting.
I've already stated that putting in exceptions doesn't do anything.

Question do you have both Ignore this application and do not skin it and Skin this app even if it uses Direct3D checked?
The reason I asked is because I did that to see what would happen and sure enough it causes Photoshop to completely lockup to the point where it must be force closed via task manager.
If you have both checked make sure to uncheck Ignore this application, and only have Skit this app even if it uses Direct3D.
And a screenshot of everything running I even loaded the theme you stated to see if there was any issues with the theme itself

I wish I could provide some insight for the start menu problem, but I have not used Skin Studio before so that is a big gray area for me, sorry : \ Though I wish you luck and finding a solution. ^.^
Nope, I only have "skin this app even if it uses Direct 3D" checked. I made sure not to check both. It locks up when I try to open up an option menu, I'm assuming because the window that pops up is "invisible", but when it pops up, other options become the background and are disabled... maybe?
It's been months. Still nothing.
I wasted my money...
We've re-opened the internal case on it, just wanted to let you know Baniita.
*deep sigh*
