What are your best (joke) ideas for Gal Civ 3?
Mine are....
Diplomatic option, taunting.
Suppose you're steamrolling your sworn enemies. Everyone is allied against them so they have no one to surrender to. It would be nice to be able to call them up and taunt them with the destruction of their civilization.
"Hey Lord Kona."
"Have-have you come to discuss peace terms? Oh thank you, thank you!"
"Nope. Just reminding you that you're doomed."
Spaceship Interior Designer
It's a staple of GalCiv to be able to custom our fleets. But wouldn't it be just as cool to design the interiors?!?! Taupe paint in the command center, matching furniture sets, I have a whole plan laid out. It'll be great.
Political Machine 2242
Having your political party win an election is a bit underwhelming in previous games. What if every election was modeled with a little mini-game? A completely realized election campaign where you tour your empire along with rival candidates and debate the current issues! Was it a mistake to get involved in a war against the Altarians? Are you for or against Robosexual marriage? What are you doing to help develop the job market for graduates? Every election year would become a full game in the vein of Political Machine while you continue to run your civilization!
I still say they should have a Yor theme music, maybe as an easter egg that plays on April Fool's day or somesuch, done with floppy drive stepper motors (see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B_Q6jMUdfYc as an example of what I am talking about).
Relevant enough to post here.
Long ago, powerful AAA games fought a desperate civil war across the industry. The noble 4X games, and the evil FPSs fought to within inches of final victory for the FPSs.
And then suddenly, they dropped in quality.
Their departure opened the door to the younger companies to make their way into the industry, but their progress was slow, for their ability to distribute great distances was limited by the Publishers. The Publishers could only send games between any stores.
The rise of the youngest company, Valve, on Earth in the 21st century let to a discovery that would shatter the industry balance: Steam. With this technology, games could distribute great distances on their own.
Now, the younger companies have found themselves in a race to research, develop, grow, and ultimately conquer the industry.
But as they will soon learn, there are far better titles in the industry... than each other.

Valve did NOT invent digital distribution. The Atari 2600 had GameLine, for instance, in the early 1980s.
I am still not crazy about Valve, and if I can get a game free of Steam (though certainly I steer clear of even more intrusive and proprietary 'services' like Origin) from another service (like Banished! on gog), I will go that route.
The game plays Yakety Sax every time you move a ship/fleet due north. Or the graphic for your ship turning into a fish for the next few turns.
True, but they did introduce it to the mass market. Plus, I had to work with what I had.
Yor voice over sounding like this.
Dark Yor would be sending out billions of free installation CDs.
Yor representative singing Daisy at the start of negotiations before noticing the channel is open.
Ha! Hilarious! I have another to add.
Drengin specific research - Romantic Comedies.
You'd think that something other races invented but we Drengin never got around to would be an immediate sign of something frivolous and horrible. But to our scientists shock and disgust, some "Rom Coms" are actually enjoyable. With our new awareness of this art form we can start work on a screenplay.
Well, the Drengin are known for their cruelty. From Rom Coms they would go on to reinvent the Twilight saga in the 31st Century.
And those who survived would weep, wishing they wept tears of blood. And those not yet dying would beg for death. Just like many did a thousand years before in similar circumstances
