Anyone know how - through existing tags - a random event could give thingto JUST AI players? I want to give a powerful unit to all AI players. If it can't be a direct summon, giving them a high-AI priority spell is fine.
Is there a tag for events/quests that targets all non-organic players?
I've been trying to figure this one out myself, no luck so far. It would be sooo dang helpful if there was an AIOnly tag for spells and/or events.

I'll share my success/failure here.
I'm curious if we are all looking at the same problem. I find that once I reach late game, there is little chance of me losing - it might be trying and take awhile, but taking city after city from the AI is almost guaranteed. Thus, late game is the least fun part, a mop-up exercise.
I acknowledge, of course, that this is a 4X game recurring problem, not just a Legendary Heroes problem.
So, my goal is to give all AI players a huge boost late game, when I can handle it. Just giving them a dozen dragons would do the trick, but I was thinking some custom-made units might be more interesting...
Yep same problem, I had the same idea as what you've described.
Really hard to do without AI only spells and/or events. Only thing I thought was to give the AI some special units that produce a resource "ai_stuff". Then give the AI one or more spells that requrie "ai_stuff" to cast..... these spells would give the AI strong units. You can make the spells unlock via a late game tech if you wanted to delay their use.
The special units that generate "ai_stuff" would have to be units the ai would produce... maybe militia or spearmen or something like that.
That's about all I can come up with.
Why not just make some AI only unit designs that require a hidden resource granted by an event? If you make the units super tough and basically free the AI will probably build them. I have some experience trying to get the AI to build custom units.

Ya you give it to everyone but only the AI has access to units that use it. I believe you can make the resource hidden so that it doesn't show up at the top of the screen. Thus if you can't see it or use it then it doesn't matter if you get it.
