Is diplomacy going to be tweaked so you can actually have relations. The negative diplomacy factors outweigh the good ones by some margin.
It is a war game.
It is a 4x game. War is only 1/4 victory conditions...
Really???
1. Conquest - Murder everyone else.
2. Diplomacy - Murder everyone but your token allies.
3. Magic - Murder everyone who tries to stop you from casting the spell of making, ie everyone.
4. Quest - Murder the Dragon Lord.
Of all of those War is the main component of everyone but the last, and even then a huge army is the way to win. I would say war is about 4/5 of the victory conditions.
It's crazy to see the character I created still used and updated in the game!
I am pretty sure alliance, trade and economic treaties are actually in the game to be used.
Considering what things got fixed, is Derek the only person working on this game anymore? It seems like only bugs fixable through the XML got fixed.
Great! Been waiting on this to start a new game
I'm curious if you managed to get those types of conditional modifiers for the attacker integrated into the unit details window. And if so, how dynamically are they updated? Is a master archer going to instantly get 25 crit visible in unit details if he equips a bow?
Not everything that is XML got fixed. A lot of the XML got fixed because there were already lots of posts with the fixed XML included. So, Derek or others who only lurk, looked at the fix decided if it was a fix and included in the next build. No need for them to waste resources on fixing XML when they could focus on the deeper code issues. Like some of the fixes discussed by Heavenfall and Derek.
Yes, they are meant to be used...in the context of war.
Consider the subtitle of the first game: War Of Magic. I am simply suggesting that it is a game focused on directly dominating your opponents - it contains all the 4X elements, but cultural and diplomatic domination is subdued, while unit customization and tactical battles make it clear war is a emphasis of the game concept.
Diplomacy could be deeper - but it's not necessarily the best move for this 4X game. I think the designers intended direct conflict to be the game's focus, through armies, heroes, or magic.
Derek any chance of finally squashing the wildland bosses wandering outside their borders bug and associated bugs?
This is great news. I've noticed this problem where sometimes particles don't show on the units... I though it was just me
If you get the chance, there is something funny going on with city effect particles, as noted here:

Thanks.
Will we consider trade individual technology instead of civilization / warfare and magic research point? The trading part is a a bit bland compare to civ series.
Yeah that'd be great, does't GC2 have that also?
Would also like to see trading of cities... maybe even magic items
N/A
What about when you defeat a guy in battle you get his items at well and vice versa, if you lose in battle, you lose your items to a guy as well.
Wow, thanks for this! This is a game changer for sure.
Will you release this already? I'd like to start playing this game again. My hiatus because of game-breaking bugs has lasted long enough!
Part of me agrees...part of me doesn't.
I've also been on a hiatus from LH until the update is released. However, I'm looking for the 'fixed rotational building placement' before I dive back in again...so if it takes another month or longer to add in it (along with other stuff), I'm fine with waiting...
Until then...it's either DA:O or KOTOR....tough call...
I never knew we had that ability to begin with (and subsequently lost)!
I'm waiting to carry on with my beast lord game. No good if my beasts keep deserting.
Probably not gonna be compatible with your old game, most likely you'll have to start a new game for all changes to take affect.
Probably yes. I still would like to play as a beast lord though, it seemed like it could be fun. If we all shout loud enough, they might release it as a beta build, then we can get on and play.
