There's a Steam sale this weekend for Fallen Enchantress (and now Legendary Heroes) which is bringing many thousands of new players into our community.
Please welcome them!
Of course. Is there any reason to believe that we wouldn't be welcoming?
What exactly are you implying?! I DON'T HAVE TO STAND FOR THIS KIND OF TALK! I'm an important number!
(welcome, all!)
???
Welcome all. You can see we have an interesting (erm... I mean EXCELLENT ) sense of humour (Australian spelling).
Welcome to the Stardock forums!
Welcome and remember - always wear protection.
Say goodbye to your life.
Welcome. Feel free to ask about anything your stuck with. Expect at least one, most likely more sarcastic answers, but overall if you run into any problems the other members will be able to assist you. If you get stuck please try and save the game where you get stuck to help us assist you.
I echo what Illauna (who btw is male, which he has mentioned in past posts, in case you're wondering about it sounding like a feminine name) said. The Stardock forums are quite well moderated, and generally pretty friendly, which Illauna and I have tried to express. The frog smilies are because of our mascot and esteemed leader who likes to take part in the forums (Frogboy, alternate username Draginol).
Have fun and ask questions, although in-depth political discussions are restricted to the joeuser.com part of the site, which is not generally spread out to the rest of the Stardock forums, unlike most non-site-specific "Life, the Universe and Everything" content (which I think is cross-posted to all Stardock-owned forums).

Just bought FH:LH on Steam-sale yesterday.
Thanx for a nice welcome.
As to that Feel free to ask about anything your stuck with part:
starting with CIV I. some decades ago, I hope I will manage somehow - can see one problem ahead though.. Where to get some quality time for this beauty while having two toddlers, regulars job and demanding wife.. Any advice of this one?
Eh, I can't help you there. No kids and wife is a fellow gamer. I would say I'm more demanding then she is. Although, I'm going back to school and working. Basically, I've always played about an hour after people have gone to sleep. Generally, enough time to get a few turns in.
New players and returning, one of the best resources for this game I've run across is the Let's Play Videos Das put out some time ago. He gives a good description of the game mechanics as well as some strategies for early game and why he does what he does. As always, if you need help with something write a post about it.

Welcome! It's always nice when new people join a community.
The folks on the Steam forums tend to be a bit more critical than the fan boy love fest we have here.
Be careful what you wish for...

Was looking for a new game. Came here to see how it was, saw the videos, went to Steam, and low and behold it was on sale, and picked it up. Glad I did. Now I wish I had the time to play marathon sessions.
Hello all, I am one of those new players. I have a question. I am playing the undead faction. I know they don't grow their population food. I am stumped by a few things. I have built cleric add-ons to my city that should increase my fame (if I am remembering correctly). Thing is my fame seems to be stuck and not increasing per season. The only time it increases is when I discover something or do something heroic. Issue #2: Is there a limit to the number of heroes you can have? I currenly have 4 (wondering if that is why my fame is not going up with the cleric houses anymore). #3: Is there a work around or someway to group your army? Everytime my army comes to rest on a city tile I have to single click on each member to bring it out again.
Thanks!
Welcome Durthgot!
#1: Only a few buildings provide Fame 'income' per turn. Clerics only provide a one-time bonus of +2. In the early game, you cannot build any of the +Fame/turn buildings yet.
#2: No, there's no limit. You can even acquire some heroes during quests or random events.
#3: Yes, but I forgot wat it was. I usually don't give my troops any rest .
Hello Fallenchar,
Discovered my issue with city limits with undead. I needed to upgrade my growth. Thank you for the answer to #1, that was vexing me (stares at Icehouse cans...don't blame them...they have nothing to do with it! ). As for #3, I have just tried to avoid putting my armies on auto-pilot for long haul moves. The AI likes to end their turns on cities and then they are disbanded (I need to test that a few more times to be sure it is not me that is the issue).
I have seen a few mods out there, but don't know enough about the game to pick one. Any suggestions?
Thanks for the quick reply.
Greetings from another newbie. It's a pleasure to meet you all. I've been looking through the wiki and the like, and finished the original campaign, but still feel pretty close to the base of the steep part of the logistic learning curve. I look forward to scaling it.
FH is really not a complicated game. There are a few things that aren't spelled out like how champions split xp but other then that it's fairly simple.
