This news makes me happy. Multiplayer and 64-bit makes me very, very happy.
64 bit only! Yes!
Long time Stardock and GalCiv fan. First time poster. Super excited for this announcement! I can't wait to watch this game develop and eventually get into my 4x loving hands
I can't imagine the world of GalCiv multiplayer.
Yes I can, we'd have to use the ship builder even more to come up with "just in case" builds to counter the prevalent designs we might not be planning for.
Humans are tricky though, I can't wait to see what strategies get cooked up!
Awesome to hear! Instant purchase for alpha access! Been a fan since GalCiv on OS/2 and was in the alpha for Windows (made it into the credits, woo!)
Wow awesome! Can't wait.
I saw some fighter-ey looking craft in the trailer. I'm sure thay are just tiny craft, but it would be cool if the Humans brought fighters into the Gal Civ universe!
See Gratuitous Space Battles for a cool fighter implementation... I always enjoy seeing those swarms of fighters juking around in circles and zooming back and forth across the map. So pretty, in a lethal sorta way.
But I digress. Getting excited! I was playing ToA again just the other day...
Wow! Was starting to wonder if there ever was going to be a Galciv3 LOL
Cant wait for the betas to start rolling out. Will be joining up with program over the next month or so.
Yes!! Have been waiting for this for a long time
Alright. Now, since you are finally bringing multiplayer to GalCiv, please include Hotseat. And no "Sorry, but the game fundamentally is built that Hotseat is impossible" excuse this time.
Yes!!!!!!!
Insta-bought. Insta-Elited. OMG OMG OMG. Etc.
Stardock is one company that I love supporting and am happy to throw my money at! I love customization in my games and my software and that is one thing they excel at. Hopefully the ship builder is still as great as it was in 2 and we can still create our own races
I checked the FAQ, but didn't see an answer, so any chance it will be avaliable for the Mac?

"What? How does [player] even have [tech]? Okay, I've got this... Hang on a second..."
Governors >> Ship Production >> Planets building: >> Dreadnought MK-II >> Should now build: >> J.I.C. Annihilator MK-I >> Done >> Turn
"HA!"
I've been waiting for this for a long time! Superb news!!!!
According to Frogboy, they're looking into it.
Its been along time since I've been in GalCiv forum... too long.
Can't wait! Is this going to be one of the Linux games?
Thank you Stardock
Don't mess this up SD.
I've owned every Gal Civ since OS/2. You now have another elite founder ...
Hah, another OS/2 Galciv owner! Same here, been with the series since the Good Ol Days(tm).
Exactly what I was thinking. From what I've been reading the past few hours, it seems Stardock really wants to make a deeper, better game.
Unlike another certain game studio: "Get a load of these gorgeous tilt-shift graphics! The AI is broken, the maps are way smaller than before, and we lied about DRM, but hey, tilt-shift!" /unrelated rant
Really looking forward to this!
not much to say ......as im trying to pull my jaw back up.
very pleased its comin out finally.......veeeeerrry pleased!
