Have you ever mastered a hero who could beat a dragon alone? What skills and traits did he have?
My Oracle Ceresa once killed three dragons.
First she summoned some roadblocks (Summon Skeletal Horde and others), then she cast 'Kill' 3x.
Luckily, the battleground was one of the largest in the game, so she could run away while casting. She probably would not have survived a single dragon's breath. Oh, and she had very high spell resistance, so, with some luck, she resisted the 'Fear' effect.
This could also have been a bug, as it seemed she only had to resist once.
Any hero over level 20 has a good chance, if he/she has brought items/abilities that give fire resistance.
Other things that will help greatly:
-high initiative
-high defense
-haste and slow spells
-being a mage
I've only played once with a dragon, and my dragon got killed by monsters while doing the last epic quest.
I made a high dodge warrior (custom wraith) after beating Delin, the Pyre of Man, and gaining fire immunity he easily solos dragons. Armed with a 20ish sword and the maul item he takes down dragons in two turns.
My lvl 19 Bacco with that sword (dropped from Vettar for 28 physical + 28 cold damage) + that demon horn which gives maul killed a storm dragon in a single mauled attack yesterday.
Quite game breaking I would say...
And I thought that Dragons were suppose to be EPIC...
Much less any AI troops are pretty much butter you can slice through as well with this setup.
Oh yeah, cant wait to meet those Gilden armored troops and kill them in a single strike...
The downside of that setup is defense as Bacco cant use shields with that sword + I gave him reckless for an 100+ attack power (along a 10 fire shard flamesword)...
Yeah... My SOV warrior used that sword but decided he'd rather use a shield as well as a sword so I armed him with Heartseeker instead because while it does less damage per strike it is one handed and the damage difference doesn't actually seem that big in "real world" applications
Dragons are epic.
Drops from Wildland bosses and lvl 19+ champs are (beyond) endgame.
Any high level assasin with that maul horn can instakill anything. Mine did the master quest in a single turn
Well my Gilden Sov has solo'd a dragon, albeit slowly but with spamming big heals and high initiative boosted by haste. I've yet to try it out with Ongr's 2h drop though. It helps to have fire resistance because the fire breath si the move to worry about. Cuz no fire resistance = oneshot lulz
