Been trying and can't seem to make the background white.
Open Fences Configuration, select Adjust color & appearance. Move the Color Intensity slider all the way to the right, move the Saturation slider all the way to the left. Hope that is what you are looking for.
This is how I do it...as close as I found it could get.
Transparency: move the slider all the way to the right ( no transparency)
Color intensity: move the slider all the way to the right ( no intense color)
Tint: move the slider all the way to the left ( red)
Saturation: move the slider all the way to the left ( no saturation)
Hope this helps!
Philly beat me to it!
Thanks but this just gives me a light blue or grey type color. Not close to white. Moving the tint slider back and forth has very little effect.
Nope, this just gives me the same thing as Philly0381. Strange this does not work on my Dell laptop. Everything here works just fine, color wise for sure. It must be something related to the combo of Fences and my Dell Precision M6400.
Possibly your monitor/screen setup is wrong....and you're only noticing the non-white while you're trying to set something to white...
After further testing, the problem seems to be with the transparency setting in Fences. The only way to get a white background in the fences is to set my desktop background to white. I had it set to blue and it lets a bit of the background color bleed through to discolor the fences. If I change the desktop background to red then the fences have a slight reddish tinge. If I change the desktop background to white then the white icons in the fences on the desktop disappear into the background with perfect white.Yes, the transparency is all the way off in Fences.
So it could be a Fences problem or it could be how my Nvidia card handles Fences transparency. Since no one else seems to be complaining it must be something related to my laptop.
Thanks
Actually this is how mine is, but I figured there was no *true white* in fences. The advice I gave you, is as close as I can get to white...sans a white background. Sorry if I mislead you.

Not really relevant. I have a laptop and the color is perfect in everything else. I am quite sure this is a Fences problem, especially since teddybearcholla has the same issue. If there was some way of shutting the transparency off all together I am sure I would get nice white backgrounds in my fences instead of having the color of the fences background influenced by the color of the desktop background.
I wonder if anyone else can get nice white backgrounds in their Fences? If not, it looks like it is now up to the Stardock crew to do something about this.
Thanks for the suggestions
Ohohoy
I will log this as a feature request.
I don't know how you can call a desire to be able to use the color white, the most basic of colors, a feature request. The fact that is is not available would seem like a bug to me. But, whatever. It would be nice to have some sort of a pallet to change colors there or an option to use either. It is kind of a crap shoot with the sliders. Now there is a feature request. I was wondering if it might have anything to do with transparency features in Windows 7 which I am using. I tried turning off Aero Peek and using a non Aero theme to see if they were affecting anything but that made no difference.
