Hi all,
When I create a custom Sovereign, I often try to create a backstory that fit with the orignal lore and backstory of the default sovereign and Elemental World. I'm not very creative for the backstory of my custom sovereign. But it is better than the default digger one I think.
So I am curious about how you define the backstory of your custom sovereign, do you stay in the original lore of Stardock or are you creative and make a completly different lore for the sovereign and the World.
There are so few of these threads, which saddens me.
King James Fox
"The leader of a great nation that had fallen in the cataclysm James Fox finds himself rebuilding that nation with those who survived. A man of integrity, leadership, and intelligence King Fox believes that he can unite the lands and reclaim a lost time for the embers of Armageddon."
My sovereign isn't based on any lore other than my own, pretty much the same character and civilization I use in all of these sort of games. Basically, my sovereign was a Prince or a King prior to the cataclysm and is having to start over a rebuild his Kingdom from scratch. Sometimes I make him a Noble or a General or Captain of the City Guard before the cataclysm and he has risen to leadership out of demand. In combat he doesn't rely as much on things like magic as he does on his leadership traits (administration, tactics, etc and he can hold his own in a sword fight. I'm trying to figure out how to spawn him with a few henchmen at start and they'll form his initial adventuring party.
Yes I do this type of backstory, but I attach it to the default lore. Exemple, my sovereign was a soldier in Carrodus Army and he take a role in the repression against the tarth's slave revolt. He don't like how Carrodus and the new Tarth queen use their leadership and decide to use his channeler power to give a better world to men.
I try to write it more in story telling, but it is the type of backstory that I do. I would like to make my own lore, but I think that stardock lore is good and I like to build on it.
