I need some confirmations here.
Damages from staves (or the magic damage of a weapon) are armor negating, right? For example even a crappy 6-damage fire staff seems to not care about the armor of some plated knight, so I tend to think armor is ignored all together.
Second, these damages even if magical can hit magical immune creatures. I'm rather sure about that...
Last, are these damages correctly factored with resistances and such? i.e will they be magnified if the creature has a weakness about fire (and you have a fire staff) or not?
I'm in fuzzy land here. They are magical damages, but they can bypass magic immunity... So are they really magical, i.e is magic resistance/vulnerability applying or this is just for spells and not magical weapons
Yes, elemental damage ignores armor completely.
Yes, elemental damage affects magic-immune creatures. Magic immunity protects against spells targeted at the creature, but weapon attacks are not spells. If it helps any, I suppose you could think of it as that the magic happens at the staff, where the fire is created, but it's then normal, non-magical fire when it flies across the battlefield and hits the target.
Yes, elemental damage from weapons is adjusted based on the target's resistance or vulnerability to that element.
