Edited 11/11/2012 for clarity and because I was really pissed off when I wrote this and it's just not very coherent.
“Blaming the prince of the fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince.”
~ Someone in the Czech Republic via a newspaper
I’m disappointed.
Yesterday the morning started out with such hope. By the time I went to bed last night. Crash and burn.
Ohio results weren’t in yet, but I could tell it was going to go for Obama. Disgusted with half my fellow buckeyes, I went to bed.
Usually a night of rest makes things seem less grim, less hopeless in the morning.
Not so today.
It’s worse.
What I can’t wrap my head around? How could white Americans vote for more debt? Why do I differentiate between white and black? Because I get racial pride. I have black friends. Even though Obama doesn’t have anything close to their background, their “black American” experience, he’s still “one of them.” I think it’s retarded to vote for or against someone based on race. Retarded when thought about logically. But emotion, and racial pride, can blunt the senses. And there is a simmering hostility in the black community.
The flavor of perceived oppression is often as bitter as the actual pill.
So I can understand the racial pride vote. Or understand it as well as a white girl in the suburbs can
So how could white, Latino, whatever vote for a man who has more debt than all other presidents combined? Are they not paying attention? And for the record, every single person I know who is on welfare, or gets SSRI, or some other gov. handout, voted BO. Without exception.
The right to vote at the federal level for president isn’t a Constitutional right. People getting checks from the government for doing nothing more than existing, shouldn’t get to vote imo. That aside….
One of the reasons this election was so important is….Obamacare. It is the cannon that will blast us over the fiscal cliff into oblivion and irrelevance. Do not pass go. Do not collect $200.
Can you say 50% income tax?
Don’t worry, you’ll have lots of practice. It will be part of the common American experience in the not too distant future.
It is highly ironic that in my suburb, people voted for BO, and voted down the much needed school levy. Meaning, they don’t want to pay more taxes. hahahaha. They elected the king of taxes!!
Don't get me wrong. Our current medical system is broken. The cost of care is unrealistic. There are things in Obamacare I support, but at the same time don't believe my family should be forced to pay for healthcare for grown-ass adults. It's a quandry.
History shows, as a super-power declines, it is challenged by other nations. Usually war. That’s what happens when the biggest kid on the block isn’t as strong anymore. Others, who secretly resented their power all along, or simply want the resources that kid has, gang up to bring them down. When that happens….if there is anything left of what once was America…I say we split it. Liberals and government check collecting Dems on one side, the rest on the other.
The split is already here, but for the geography anyway.
So we split officially. Obama-bots have their own place, one plagued with debt, taxes, and gov. dependency…and the rest of us? Free to build the life we choose, live or die by our own ability and ambition, unlimited by gov. tax burdens.
Our motto?
Live free or die.
Until then, I am an American.
But I have to wonder, will my grand-children be?
Shocking. Not!
That divide is there. I'm not going to pretend it's not. Half of America is pissed off right now.
I'm especially pissed at people I know, WHO SHOULD KNOW BETTER. Who spend hours on Facebook, but can't take the time to hunt down some facts. They just spew the DNC talking points...and when pointed toward the truth, they change direction.
On top of that, some of them spew things about racism .. that have no merit in fact, and shows their own narrow racist view of the world.
I shouldn't be surprised. But I am when it comes from people I at one time believed were fairly smart.
It is THOSE people I'm cutting out of my life.
It's hard to believe in this day and age, people who claim to be so intelligent are so ignorant of anything that doesn't have to do with their own lives.
It is almost worth the pain of the coming years just to watch them squirm. But you know what? Obama-bots will never accept responsibility for supporting him when things go bad. They'll blame everyone and anything else but themselves and their self made Messiah.
He thought he inherited a mess from Bush? Well, he inherited a bigger mess from himself. Wonder how he'll spin that.
PS – sorry I got sidetracked cooking steaks on the grill and working on the yard and didn’t realize I was on the first page.
Randomness:
1 in 5 Americans are now on Medicaid. With this administration, that's a feature, not a bug.
The most transparent administration in history failed to disclose the Iranian drone attack, Petraeus' planned departure (they knew before the election), not to mention the truth about Benghazi. Including the 'hot mic' disclosure about BO's plan to be 'more flexible' after his election, there is as clear a pattern of opacity and deceit with Obama as could ever be imagined. Far worse than Nixon. He's fundamentally dishonest, a dissembler, unworthy of the office we somehow managed to give him for another 4 years.
To paraphrase a certain someone, for the first time in my life I'm ashamed to be an American.
Goes without saying. You'll never hear them say, "We had no idea how much worse our policies would make it."
He'll find a way with his lapdog media to pass the blame. Its time to realize that Americas best days are in the rear view mirror now that welfare recipients, children, and foreigners control the outcome of our elections.
Why Romney lost
http://www.lifesitenews.com/home/print_article/news/36929/
While much of that might be true, In looking at the results, Mitt Romney caused at least 3 million Republicans who voted for Palin and McCain to sit the election out. Old man McCain actually motivated more Mormons to vote for him than Romney could... and Romney is a Mormon. So shame of those conservatives for voting for Obama by virtue of staying home.
While Romney wasn't the most charismatic guy, or even very well versed in matters of foriegn policy, he was a million times better than Obama. Obama makes Jimmy Carter seem competent and Richard Nixon seem like a pretty good guy. I would like to see 2 new laws in America. 1.) no person under the age of 21 can cast a ballot and 2). all persons receiving state assistance such as welfare and food stamps barred from elections.
S'all good Tess! I too remember just 3 stations! And watching Dr Who in black and white on a fuzzy "other" channel. I can't remember, possibly PBS.
When Libya happened, my husband (who is circumspect and generally keeps his opinions to himself..drives me nuts!! lol) said, "A military officer, likely one of the generals will take the fall for this."
I think when all is said and done, we will see the Petraeus resignation as a preemptive strike to put a lid on the Libya debacle.
I'm almost AFRAID to learn the truth. Afraid of what it will reveal about our country....about our politicians.
Veteran's Day is here tomorrow.
Every person who stayed home (because there is NEVER a perfect candidate) imo is not only taking voting for granted, they are at best indifferent to the sacrifice of soldiers past and present who died, were wounded, or just served to ensure they kept the right, and at worst, spitting on that service.
Grrrr.
Yes. Exactly. It will be Bush's fault. If he says it enough times, the historians will surely put it down as fact.
Good point. I haven't really thought about it like that. But you're right. Why not give a full disclosure if the resignation is about adultry and the Libya thing was all good.

I'd add you have to WANT to be informed.
Do you trust the government with your computer?

The election results make me ponder whether the Mayans were on to something.
Great minds and all that! My son and I talked about the Mayans today as a matter of fact...lol. He's more optimistic...but he's 17, what does he know? buwhahahaha
(well besides Dec 21st is the end?)

Um, no. lol "He who can be trusted with a little, can be trusted with a lot. He who can not be trusted with a little, can not be trusted with a lot."
