First of all, I loved the campaign, much more enjoyable than WoM one (Which I also liked), and although the plot twist of the Oracle becoming the Enchantress and of her being Ceresa was pretty obvious, I still liked it that both she and Relias got fleshed out so much.
Yet I feel the whole thing ended in a cliffhanger (Yes, the cliff where the continent split in half *shot*) and while I know that WoM's own campaign is supposed to be next chronologically speaking, is there going to be some sort of official follow up? Like Relias convincing Procipinee or him going to the East to fight with only Altar backing him up?
The most unexpected thing i got off the whole story was that I now think Relias and Ceresa make a lovely couple.
She did seemed to me to have some sort of affection towards Relias, with her keeping the name of the kingdom and her narrations being so nice and kind.
Anyways, I just wanted to say I really liked the whole thing and I am so happy you are giving us the tools to make our own, can't wait to see what the great modders come up with!
I had forgotten this. I wonder if they plan on redoing the WoM campaign for FE. I hope they tell us so if not modders can do it.
If what I have seen adds up, we will have a civil war before the war of magic occurs. I recall seeing something called the Nobles Revolt" which Relias and the other factions rebel against New Pariden.
I seriously hope that Elementals campaign gets ported into FE than we get the Nobles revolt, and the war of magic. I also hope Ceresa survives as well.
Oh and serious spoiler alert:
Relias marries Majesta, procipinee's daughter.
Does he? Where was that mentioned?
And yeah, if Stardock does not remake the WoM campaign then we should, since a lot of plot points were never mentioned mostly because they were yet to be thought up, and with the new tools it could really be great.
If there is any Civil War I would bet it would be one of Relias unifying the West by force to be able to face Ceresa properly rather than the Nobles' Revolts that from what i read were not that bloody or anything, just Relias and a bunch of others saying 'We are a new kingdom' and Procipinee retaliates and loses half her territory.
By this time I believe the other kingdoms are already formed correct?
Another great idea for a campaign, a Destiny's Embers one, which never materialized, and had a good plot to work with. (Would be a challenge to portray Calabethon though... maybe just say it is SO big it's roof is too far above to be in view?)
Yeah, Ceresa better survives and is cleansed, and then she also marries Relias as the Oracle. (Other Sovs have multiple spouses, Relias can surely keep two women happy. )
Its mentioned in Brad's (aka Frogboy) book Destiny's Embers.
Ceresa is mine BTW,
I don't think Ceresa needs to be 'cleansed' at all though, thats way to cliche, maybe due to the realities of the east and the general treachery of the other fallen empires forces here and her wraiths to focus more on holding onto their own territory, as dealing with multiple hostile neighbors and the west would prove to be too much. And maybe she simmers down as well.(Hey I would be angry too if someone corrupted me after waking me from my thousand year beauty sleep) *According to lore she does fortell anyone's future if they come to visit her temple*
Huh, maybe I should re-read it...
You do not have to fight me, but Relias. (There is also Procipinee, who is not bad looking either, Relias you dog!)
True, but people here told me the same when I called dibs on the idea of the Oracle getting corrupted and becoming the FE. (Their designs were a clear give away) I did wish I was wrong though, much more enjoyable when I cannot predict what is going to happen.
But yes, I actually like your idea better, sort of like a symbolic union of the Humans and Fallen.
My guess is that she is doing most of what she is doing (attacking and killing) because she has lived knowing the future all her life, so she has come to believe that destiny is unchangeable, so if Destiny says she has to kill everyone, she accepts, although begrudgingly. Do take notice how she still remains pretty nice in the narrations, and her actual talk with Relias (via Crow Twitter) are more about revenge, which indicates that she resents what is happening, rather than embracing her corruption as she would if she had changed psychologically.
You will also notice how she "complains" about Relias not mentioning the details about what happened or expressing grief This shows a general naivete about the world of politics, which she was likely sheltered from as a child and as her role as the oracle.
As we know all politicaians will whitewash events for the public record, especially back in the day, and also they would never show or express grief in public, to avoid being seen as weak. These practices are further amplified in situations where royalty and dynasties are very important, like medieval Europe and other Empires of the time.
Yeah but there's a difference in writing it down in his own book and saying it publicly. So not even privately does he express remorse or regret.
Cliche or not. I would like to see the oracle restored. Golem and all. Sure I smashed it, but those rock parts can be put back.
One thing I cannot fathom is how the magics that held the Sorceress was so powerful and Lord Dunderhead had no idea or any indication of it being remotely evil
In the end I do believe that someone will triumph.
He does after the cut scene after Ceresa is corrupted, he is pratically despairing at the time. And its obviously through the little popups that he misses Shirayne. But in his position it would have been political suicide to mention the true events in his book.
I think he does grief in private but Ceresa said she read not his diary but his Hiergamenon, which I always believed was supposed to be like the compilation of his life work for others to read, so it was a public record...
Another thing I just noticed, when reading the one Stardock posted a while ago online, there is a part that is clearly written by Relias, in which he is charting the East and mentions how he met the Oracle and she told him he would be king (Sort of jerk of him to mention it to Procipinee that way 'Yeah, it came true, you might notice you lack half of your kingdom now')
... But when does this happen? Did Ceresa told Relias other things via Crow along with the 'I am going to get you' messages like 'Oh, by the way, you are to be king in the West, congratulations on that by the way'?
The very first cutscene she says "your story, Relias, ends with a crown. But let me tell you another. It begins with a girl...". As this is the fallen enchantress speaking, I can only assume that this is her speaking directly to Relias at the end of map 3, but juxtaposed into map 1 to foreshadow it all.
So Relias just heard all the narrations from a crow as he left the East?
Makes sense in context I guess.
And then with the strength of a 20000 scorned maidens caused a storm that caused Relias's ship to flounder off the coast, and thus starts EWOM"s "campaign"
Ceresa was asleep for centuries, so odds are that when she was in that time of the month, it hit her like a Midnight stone wall.
So your saying that some chocolate can soothe the upset enchantress? Good to know
Sorry Brad and Stardock for dragging your best creation through the mud.
Chocolate ALWAYS works.
It's not mud, it's headcanon.
