To go along with our old school (with real information in it!) manual, we also have a spellbook for you guys. We hope you enjoy it, the spells should be accurate to our internal build today so they may vary from live a little bit. If anyone notices any mistakes lemme know and I'll fix it.
It will also be going up on the website along with the manual.

If you are looking for a smaller version (reduced image size):

And again, once it's on the main website I will provide a link to that too
Sweet!
That first link isn't working - it's giving an error that the network location isn't working. 2nd pulled up fine.
Very, very nice!!
The index says "Water Spells p. 36". That should be "Other Spells".
Both Chaos and Pandemonium mention, that they have a random effect, but not what kind of effect.
The description of Freeze is currently: "Target enemy army is -2 Initiative (-1 per water shard) and immobilized for 2 seasons." That should be changed to: "The target enemy army is immobilized for 2 seasons and suffers -2 to Initiative (-1 per Water Shard)."
All in all, great work!
Edit: Tidal Wave doesn't mention how much damage it deals.
Wherever the link on the site ends up going, I highly recommend it also become one of the slides on the main page.
Edit: Seriously, in the slideshow, opening in a pop-up, and using the same book as the Hiergamenon.
it will, as will the manual
Is Destroy Land a new addition? I don't remember seeing that in-game so far and I've Mastered the Earth tree on a couple playthroughs.
destroy land was in the beta as the sink the land below the ocean spell so that an island could be created.
BUT I did not see it in the last couple of versions
harpo
Wow! Super Awesome. Just like the manual. I think I have to say it again. That manual is awesome. So is the Spell Reference. That is raising the bar on what comes with games.
You guys get a 10/10. Customer is very satisfied. In fact exceeds the ideal of what customer expects. Well done.
Its been awesome seeing all the outpouring of love from you guys over this stuff makes those long nights writing them worth it, I have one final treat I'm working on now... I'm sure you guys will enjoy it too, then the circle will be complete
Id like to see cast timers on those spells. Its very nice and useful - will alow me to plan my souvereign magic skills, i am happy
Very much needed and nicely constructed Spellbook - now you only have to include it in the game, in something like the Civilopedia in the Civ games (and yes, also for Technologies and Units). That would seriously make it easier, a more consistent playing experience and as a result, even more fun!
Edit:OMG, I just found the description of what I'm asking for in the FE Manual. Simply clicking on the "?" in the upper right-hand corner brings up exactly what I was asking for, the Hiergamenon. Wow, I feel so stupid now!
I love the artworks for every spell. Great work!
So create mountain is gone ?
And where the heck is this destroy land ?2 earth master chars, and this spell doesn't show in either of their spell books......
It's beautiful!
My two cents:
> it'd be nice to add spell maintenance cost to enchantments and summons
> targets are referred to in all sort of ways: enemy, enemy unit, army, enemy group, etc... I think it would be sufficient and less confusing to stick to either army or unit.
> blight: "all... cities?"
As a side comment, chaos and pandemonium have the same cost: this seems weird cos this makes chaos useless once you have pandemonium. I'd consider making pandemonium cost 50% more at least.
Thanks for the Spellbook. It's a nice resource to have, especially for a newbie trying to get a grasp of all the spells.
Totally agree. Mana cost per season is important to know for unit enhancement spells. I would also like to see Cast Time included.
Some other feedback (sorry if these points have already been raised):
* Typo on page 5: Propganda should be Propaganda.
* Description of Shadowbolt reads: "A bolt of night strikes the victim doing 4 (+1 per level) damage and reducing their Spell Resistance by 5." Which level is it referring to? Caster level?
* Description of Blood Sigil reads: "Berserks all defending units and Withers all attacking units." Nowhere in the Spellbook does it say what Beserks means. (I had to look it up in the Hiergamenon.)
* Sacrifice is given the type "Strategic - World". As the target is one of the player's cities, wouldn't it be better described as "Strategic - City Other"?
* Broken Loyalties is given the type "Strategic - Charm". I think it'd be better described as "Strategic - City Other".
* Grip of Winter is given the type "Strategic - Curse". I think it should be "Strategic - City Curse".
* Cloak of Fear is given the type "Strategic - Unit Enhancement". I thought it was a Tactical spell? (I'm not 100% sure as I haven't used it, but the AI has only cast it in tactical battles so far.)
* Dispel Enchantment is given the type "Strategic - City Curse". I think it should be "Strategic - City Other" as it can be used to remove curses.
* Vatula's Dragonslayer. I take it this is just a joke spell? Maybe I'm super gullible, but I thought it would work. I've tried it several times, but it always has no effect. If it's only a joke, can it be removed from the Spellbook and the Hiergamenon? I think the reference materials should be accurate.
And a couple of questions:
* In the Hiergamenon, Mantle of Oceans does not list a mana cost per season. I assume it has one??
* Some spells are listed in the Hiergamenon but not in the Spellbook (such as Beserk). Is this because they cannot be cast by the player, but are only castable by the AI or the effects of consumable items?
I cast regeneration on a couple of troops and my sovereign. How can I dispel it now they are all healed and I don't want to waste my mana.
Gstorrow, try clicking on the Mana icon at the top of the screen. It should take you to the Ledger which lists all your current enchantments. To the right of each enchantment is a "Dispel" button which will cancel it.
never mind, already answered
Is there anything that describes what spell effects do? I can't find it. For example, when I cast Chaos, I often see +Dazed or +Weakened. What exactly do those effects do? Dazed seems to have lowered initiative temporarily, but I can't discern what Weakened does. Lower damage? Lower Attack? Something else?
In combat, left click the unit and hover over the enchantment. The random number generator was not being kind to keep the one you were looking for but this is where you find them.
These links do not work for me (it says there is a network error before the pdf can load), does anyone know where "on the website" I can find the originals? Thank you!
onomastikon, I have just opened both pdf's in the op from australia using firefox 21, perhaps it is either a browser or internet provider block that is causeing your issues.
hope this helps
