So I haven't played since the first iteration of WoM, like during purchase week. That was the only time I played, and I was so distraught I just haven't played again.
I have, however, been watching the forums. So tell me people, as someone who had high hopes for WoM (think Age of Wonders 2, etc) should I bother downloading the Beta 4 of Fallen Enchantress?

I was in a similar boat. I played WoM 1.0 at release and was disappointed. I had high hopes for WoM, but I didn't play it all after the week.
I recently downloaded beta 3 of Fallen Enchantress, and I was quite pleased. Beta 3 definitely had a few issues (many of which are corrected in Beta 4, hopefully the rest will be fixed by release), but it was a lot more fun than WoM 1.0.
I would encourage you to download Beta 4 of Fallen Enchantress once it comes out.
If you have waited this long, try and last till the release in a few to six months. I never could...
Nice. Can't wait to try it out. Just one thing, who's in charge of adding more typos? I understand that is a hard job.

Frogboy, is the AI really this much better at making solid armies of quality troops, or do my eyes deceive me?
So this is probably nothing.. but why does a town improvement give a bonus to health to trained units? Wasn't the idea of seperating city functions supposed to encourage specializing in a given type for that specific bonus?
Err in other words why does the grocery improvement not have a fortress type improvement, or why does the grocery not give a bonus to units built in fortresses? Something like Wayfarerers Inn: Gives +1hp/2 grain in all fortresses (stackable) or simply make it perform the same function, but be fortress only. It's just a little odd to build a town for healthier units, when fortresses are supposed to cover the unit building function.
The best way I can describe good game AI is:
It's generally smart but specifically stupid.

The changelog seems to be missing a fix for Paragon not reducing your Sovereign's HP (an issue I had). Also, any plans to change how the XP the spell gives scales with XP boosters (like Potential and Trainer) - you can be giving 3-4 levels a casting, which gets pretty ridiculous (as in, level 40+ champions ridiculous).

What I meant is that it *looks* like it has learned how to build much better armies, more cohesive forces. That was its major flaw in the previous betas. The spear looks a lot pointier, to use your metaphor.
If that's the case, you deserve a LOT of praise.
This awesome! Based on the awesome video frogboy posted it looks like tons of awesome improvements were made. Hopefully the save game corruption is fixed though...
I wouldn't bet on saved game corruption being fixed just yet. It is probably a little better though.
+1 for the monsters can speak with you and the Warg rework
However what's up with the monster spawning and the hectcomb rework? I admit I like some of the monster rework but monster spawn's I was actually hoping for more of them to keep my heroes busy . And the hectcomb's are they getting a new ability or are they just stronger creeps than the murdermen I think they're called .
Any way like where's its going.
Is it just me or during auto resolve were archers still attacked first (despite having a front line)?
I like a lot of what I see. I see the animations for the citizens has returned from the second video. Thanks for that.
