I very much enjoyed The Political Machine 2008's different campaigns. While the 1860 election was entertaining (especially Barack Obama's 99% against Slavery), I particularly enjoyed the Europa and the Galactic Civilizations campaigns. I would very much love to see something this creative and hilarious make a comeback!
Additionally, I was wondering if The Political Machine 2008 might show up on Steam sometime. Who knows what happened to my original disk in 4 years, and if nothing else, I would love to replay the aforementioned campaigns.
Finally, I think it would be fascinating to do a simulation mode; you know, where you could either watch two CPU opponents battle it out across the nation or at least simulate to the "Election Night" stage and watch the map light up as The Political Machine predicts the near future for Obama v. Romney, or the incredibly improbable scenario of Franken v. Cain!
Can anyone speak to any or all of these 3 possibilities or shed light on the difficulties posed by them? Obviously, any and all opinions welcome.
Come on now, don't ignore me. These are solid ideas and from the posts on these forums, it should be evident you have a loyal, steady fanbase who loves this series and only wants to see some effort in it or maybe have their voices heard.
Look at the models of Wasteland 2, Shadowrun, and the very community involved Project Zomboid. The fans are making the game better and better, and the more involvement they have, the more money the seem to get for it. I'm not trying to give armchair hack business advice, but I just think more community involvement and encouraging it more during the development phase would be a great asset.
Really, you have a fanbase that would love to see this game reach the potential many of us see for it. Let us help, we'll wait for patches, DLC and the like, and spread the word in the meantime. As a political junkie, strat-game junkie, and all around nerd about statistics, qualifiers, and whatnot, this series is really for me. But, you could do more. We could do more and we should do more.
Jay Vaughn 2012!
i agree 100%
Couldn't agree more, especially with the Campaign mode. CPU vs CPU would be great, too.
