I'm getting some strange stuttering on my pc, as well as bugs and glitches where my opponent will move but the animation is only the plan hanging in mid-air for the remainder of the game. These occurances seem to only happen towards the end of the 121 turn map. Have not tried any other length of game, but I will let you know.
I just posted about this too.
Probably bad memory leak, and the stuttering will eventually make it unplayable.
Having the same problem. Running on a Mac with Windows 7 and BootCamp through steam. Played several games in a row (short campaigns), then started a longer one. Game sputters, stalls, stops. Now I get an error message whenever I attempt to start a new game.
I have 32 gigs of RAM, so I'd say bad memory leak would be an understatement. Tho I'm able to tab out fine and see that it's only using a little over a gig of RAM as far as the program itself goes in process management.
Generalissimo2031,
Do you get an error message starting a new game even if you quit entirely out of PM2012 and restart it? What does the message say?
Thanks for the info!
My only issue thus far has been that my opponent (never my character) seems to leave planes scattered all over the country. By the end of my 121 turn game (I'd say I started noticing 1 or 2 around turn 50, then were everywhere around 100-110), I was starting to realize why my opponent had managed to outspend me by a good 20-30 million, even when I still won the game - they bought planes they didn't really need!
cbray,
When I exit the program entirely and start over with a new game, I get a succession of three messages.
1) MiniDump: An error has caused PM2012 to stop working correctly. A report on this error has been logged for the developer.
2)Saving MiniDump File: Saving dump file to C:\ProgramData\Stardock\The Political Machine 2012\PolMachine20121_00-2012-08-01T11-05-43-449.zip
3) The Political Machine 2012 has stopped working (Windows is checking for a solution to the problem...)
Hope that helps.
Generalissimo,
Thanks for the info. First we've heard of that type of issue. Please try uninstalling the game; left-click on the game in your Steam library and choose "Delete Local Content". Then re-download it. If the issue persists, please contact support at support@stardock.com
Any info on the runaway memory leak & stutter-death?
I posted my latest game log in the other thread, but I had restarted the program a couple times since the last Stutter-to-lockup. The error log still had a good amount of errors listed, though.
We're looking into it now. Thanks for the info.
