Has anyone Else noticed the problem with this Titan and how it always goes into a Broadside attack? When it does, this is where the problems start with the beam weapons and their angle of attack. When the Titan is broadsiding, it will not use Beam Weapons to attack with. this is a Hugh loss of attack power. I have checked the .entity file for this ship and their seems to be no way of fixing or adjusting the beam weapons degree angle so the beams will also fire when broadsiding.
I should point out that this is an issues with attacking Starbases or single targets. but still I want to use the full power of this ship on a head on attack. currently that's not happening.
If anyone knows please let me know, or Yarlen, are you all aware of this issue? I really think it should be looked at.
Its kind of the way the ship was designed. When facing a single target, most ships in the game don't use all their banks to the best efficiency.
If i recall, ships position themselves based on damage output so you could get it not to broadside by upping the beam damage in the front or back of the ship however it will then face that direction and many of the side guns will probably not fire. Only way I think you can get what your looking for is to adjust the hard points on the model itself so that they are on the sides but point in a frontward direction as well.
Pretty much what SteelFin posted - just make the front bank weapons do more damage than the sides and it will auto-orient itself front facing.
The TEC Loyalist Titan has:
114/5.5 lasertech titan on L/R30/7 flak antilight on F/B148.75 & 136 /8 beam titan on F/B127.5/10.5 missile titan on L/R
The TEC Loyalist Titan design is that of a damage sponge with those massive wings. Its main weapons are broadside so it doesn't get gutted in battle. Secondary weapons are F/B to nail support. Giving additional damage so it presents it's vulnerable core completely messes with the design and intent of the ship, which is a tank of epic proportions.
TEC Rebel Titan is an aggressive beast -setting it's broadside weapons to have more damage so it goes sideways in combat would totally wreck how the ship's been designed and the 'philosophy' of getting right up in the enemy's face and shooting it off.
Well, the Ragnarov gaus guns (red projectiles) has a rather large firing arc. Even if you are out of reach for the main rail gun the will mercilessly nail you. Combined with advanced maneuvering, it is very difficult to get the Ragnarov from behind.... its only weakspot. That the "secondary" gaus guns do nearly the same amount of damage as the 27km main rail gun isnt helping matters either. Right now balancing is somewhat flawed... nobody will ever bother to fire on the Ankylon when it is not the last thing standing as it is not much of a threat alone. The Ragnarov is an entirely different topic.. you want it to die as fast as possible because it does hurt like hell. Once it levels up, its greatest weakness is more or less compensated for. Tec still have the toughest ships arround and so even the Ragnarov becomes quite durable.
