Most effective way to deal with them?
1. No need to double post your thread.
2. Flak (defense vessels of Advent or Setinels of Vasari) and capital ships with area of effect damage can deal with them easily. Titans (most) have AOE. The TEC Corsev has AOE. The Advent Discord has AOE abilites to deal with them.
In my experience, I've found three ways to deal with corvettes.
More Corvettes, Flak Frigates and Capital Ship Abilities
More Corvettes: Sounds crude yes, but if you have more corvettes than your opponent, you will obviously win.
Flak Frigates: Great way to kill corvettes and are the ideal counter. However, they are much slower than corvettes so chasing a raiding corvette force is going to be an utter pain.
Capital Ship Abilities: Some capital ships in the game have great area of effect abilities that deals damage to large groups of ships. For example, the Advent Discord can do "Scream" which deals about 200 (something close) to ships in a small area. Since corvettes have 200-400 health/shields, this will do tons of damage to a corvette swarm.
Titans also have good abilities to deal with corvettes, though by the time you or your opponent gets titan, no one should be making corvettes.
Does the Kohl's flak burst ability work against them?
Best counter: wait until the patch tomorrow, they are getting a far worse damage type. Well, that or AoE damage.
So they're going to be pretty much useless then. If I wanted "Anti-Light" weapons I'd just use a regular friggate. It has more hp
Nope, only Fighters and Bombers.
There is no frigate that deals anti-ligth damage. Only fighetrs previously did anti-light.
Also this nerf is temporary- in 1.04 corvettes are gettign their own unique damage type- the antilight change is a temporary fix until 1.04 rolls out a few weeks down the road.

point, totally forgot about that. but then corvettes are cheaper, faster, deal more damage, and don't have much less health
