I haven't seen a topic on this game. I just picked it up last week. It has a great atmosphere and game mechanics. It has a Diablo mixed with Baldurs Gate in the setting of Fallout sort of feel. It is still in beta but will be released on June 15th. For $14.99 on steam you really can't go wrong picking it up.
In any case they seem to be pretty active with the community. I thought I'd share this gem with you all.
I was looking at this too. How much customization is there? That's a huge part of it for me. Can you give me a bit of a review perse? I'm broken as sh*t but I really want to pick this up (co-op later? sweet!)
I am not preordering anything and I am not committing to anything... other then to download the demo when it becomes available.
First feature they list is perma death... so, thats a potential red flag but it could work too (if its a quick roguelike).
They advertise the game with a "cool, frat party, woo!" type ad that is so common in games... that is, action music blaring while they splice together a bunch of "action" scenes... which are as boring and pedant as those in any game (this isn't a movie, a horizontal sword swipe followed by red HP loss numbers is not "cool").
I hope it has a solid plot otherwise I have little interest in it.
So, you start out with 3 pre-made characters that you can change out for new ones. The customization comes when you level up and or add modifiers to your characters. You will not want to become too attached to your characters as you will lose some of them (Permadeath is not quite clear yet, you typically have to die several times before it is permanent for a character, you don't lose your save or anything).
You can customize your characters but not as much as in most rpgs. However it ends up being a lot as you hire different characters and specialize them as they get experience. Really you are going into a randomized dungeon with a small party of 3 characters looking for loot. It is fun for $15, and offers a unique atmosphere. If you are hesitant, definitely wait a week until it is released and see what the reviews say.
Reading reviews is far inferior to actually playing the game.Just download the demo.
I had some fun with the public tests, am waiting for the release.
I just passed it by on steam, but i guess i'll check out the demo. Ty for post.
Now that I have it downloaded finally, it's a pretty decent game. Much better than you expect from an indie team so I'm wondering what their other games are like.
