Hi guys,
Does anyone know why it's taking so long for uploads skins and wallpapers to get approved lately? I uploaded my skin/wallpapers about two weeks back but it still hasn't appeared in the gallery does anyone know why it's taking so long?
James
Most recent wall submission was approved on 9/5/2012 ..... nothing since...
Oh....5/9/2012 for those in America....
Happens to all of us once and a while
I don't understand the point of that though, so does that mean I'm the only person who can download or view it? Wouldn't that be pointless as it's on my laptop and I have access to it anytime. Surely the whole point of uploading it is to make it available for others to download?
Others can download it as well providing they visit your personal gallery.
Also, it's worth asking for feedback on how you mihgt make better (more acceptable) walls.
But . . here's the rub . . . why did you make the walls? For yourself because you like creating? If so, congrats! You created something. Rock on!

*Thinkin ´bout it *
I make them because I enjoy making them, but half the enjoyment is having other people enjoy using them. Taking pride in reading the comments, watching the downloads increase etc. I find it really hard to believe that people on this site spend days, weeks and sometimes months creating a piece of art, whether it's a wall, skin or hundreds of icons entirely for personal use. There probably is the exception but the vast majority surely create stuff to be shared.
Anyway moving on, it would be nice to know the reason the wallpsper wasn't approved, but to be honest it being in my gallery isn't a problem as it was purely designed for my skin which I've uploaded twice over the last two weeks but hasn't appeared in my gallery at all. Is there a reason that hasnt been approved? If so, would it be possible to know as maybe I can rectify the issue.
Many thanks.
Ps the skin I uploaded was called concept t1 if that helps at all.
PM a moderator about the wallpaper not being approved. Neither you nor the mods will really want it to be known publicly why your work was sent to your personal page.
You could ask the same mod about your skin not appearing while you're at it, but that may be more of a support issue.
JPB05,
When a submission is rejected for issues relating to it 'not working' or as is your case a copyright issue a rejection email is sent to you indicating the problem.
Your Windowblind was rejected as it contains graphics from another's Windowblind....I expect due to it being the WB from which you developed your own.
You were notified as to removing/replacing the 'borrowed' graphics however the re-upload was not changed and was again rejected.
This is something [almost] everyone goes through from time to time....
I can't speak from personal experience, SKS still intimidates me. but I do know that some begin by using Diamond, a WB that comes with Windowblinds, as a template. The many parts that make up a WB have to be skinned using your own ideas, basically using the sizes of the parts alone. The graphics however of the skin being used as a template are protected by copyright and may not be used in any way shape or form without express permission from the copyright owner.
Ahh I see! Cheers for the help everyone, I'll look into sorting out the problem.
look forward to seeing your new windowblind in the future... and welcome to wincustomize.
