Pirates will not take any missions for less or more than 7500 credits, leaving only a weak attack. When I read the previous patch notes about an overwhelming attack, I assumed that for 100k credits I could pay for a pretty hefty assault.
No such luck. Only weak assaults. I felt like I paid for a hit squad of assassins in wheelchairs to hit him from what I saw.
Patch notes for .90 call for strike fleets to be destroyed by the Starbase RB. No joy. My son blew his SB, my fighters continued to sip their cocktails and blast away.
in the known issues sticky, they say abilities that target strike craft are not functioning. So I would assume that the red button may not work on them either, even though it is not directly targeting them. That is just my guess though.
Yeah, really the big red button works like flak bursts, if that doesn't work BRB won't either.
I thought they fixed Flak Burst and all other abilities...
Back to the OP:
The fact that you can only send small raids has to do with the amount of fleet supply you have researched. If you already have a big fleet and high fleet supply level researched while the enemy you want to send the pirate raid to, you are only able to send a fairly small raid for example. While if you would only have a very small fleet while the enemy has a huge fleet, you would be able to send huge raids his way.
That is basically how the system works.
This is some doodoo. So if your opponent is going to rickroll you, you have to whack out some quick research to offer the pirates a mission? IMHO, it should be money based.
(Clears throat) I SAID..... FIX IT!
He's saying that if you have little fleet supply, but your enemy has a lot, you can send large raids.
If you have lots of fleet supply, but your opponent has little, you can send small raids.
This is likely to stop powerful players from absolutely steamrolling the game. If you have 100K credits to drop, odds are you have a pretty good economy, likely a pretty good fleet, and high level researches. You are at an advantage.
Meanwhilst, your opponent may have 20K spare credits that they saved up because they can't overrun your economy, your forces are too powerful to defeat, and they're never going to catch up to your research level. As such, they can save their resources and send the pirates at you. It tried to give them a fighting chance, rather than giving you the ability to steamroll them.
Hmmm, although it is harder to have a strong economy with a massive fleet due to the tax that is imposed upon you. So it's much more likely that someone with a powerful army will have a relatively weaker economy to someone with a small fleet.
So I figure it's balanced like: Weak Fleet, Powerful Economy, use pirates.
If you have a powerful fleet, you don't need pirates so it shouldn't really matter if they send out a small fleet or not.
This is not good. For example, both TEC and Advent players for this example beat the crap out of each other. Both have large fleet supply, both own half the galaxy. Tec and Advent meet in space in two seperate sectors. Advent obliterates TEC with Wail from two planets, TEC roflstomps Advent with RB x 2. Now two titans are engaged in mortal combat in one sector.
First response? Talk to dem dere pirates and offer a mission. The only one available is weak.......
