The title says it all.
Sounds overpowered if you ask me. Cities are way too important to just vanish because someone dispelled them.
You win two internets!
Seriously though, dispel in general, and then lots more things to dispel. Add them please.
There were cities disappearing in the .77 build (IIRC). Maybe the AIs were casting dispel city?
LOL!
I'm pretty sure he is asking for a way to dispell enchantments from a city, good and perhaps bad ones from your own. I haven't played for a while-- waiting for the next build, but I don't remember a spell that had the function so it might be nice to add it.
I'd kind of like to see global enchantments too but that is a different subject all together.
We know what he meant, but this is the internet.
I wish more threads were like this ...
What lucidity, what passion, what extrapolation. The time and thought that must have gone into a post such as this, it boggles the mind.
Brevity: best. Thing. Ever.
But seriously, concision should be considered the holy grail of writing. In this case, the only thing that could have made this post any better is if the words "city" and "dispel" were flipped. I see no problem with that.
Dispel city or even dispel outpost no we should not have that in this game however Raze city should be in game and there should be an option for the Independant AI to raze cities and other structure depending on the AI setting. AOW:SM has several AI settings that you can either give individual Independant units and/or give all globally. Raider for example would raze structures while Normal AI just capture so you could taylor differnet units to do different things.
Also there should be units/abilities/spells to rebuild razed structures for a price of coarse.
Now the ability to dispell enchantments on cities should be in the game
Oh yeah, I noticed this also but forgot to post it. I had a city with a bad enchantment on it and had no way (at least that I know of) to dispell it. Good idea.
Watch out for this guy. He needs everything spelled out for him.
Come on, that was funny ^^ and I agree with him! I think the original post could use a little more polishing to catch my interest, I don't talk to my friends like "Hey Martin, Want Cake!!... Title says all".
I do think there should be a way to dispell enchantments, though it should be expensive, but hopefully NOT chance based, meaby spent thrice the base mana cost of the enchantment one wish dispelled.
Also it should be easier to view enchantment effects, especially on cities, atleast so you can cast a spell with the opposite effect as a sort of countermeasure, - that is another way to handle dispelling, I quite like that too, but requires me to have been too lucky with magic level up selection.
Sincerely~ Kongdej
Something as powerful as a city enchantment that hurts it's growth or something should take multiple turns to cast and have a cost-per-turn. A spell to dispell it should take multiple turns to cast as well.
Dispel should probably at least cost double the attacking spell, and should probably take longer to cast. (or the same amount of turns).
That being said, Offensive spells should have some sort of mana maintenance (of at least 1 ... I think they do? do they not?) and expire if the nation runs out of mana (or if the Sov decides to undo it for any other reason).
Offensive spells should also, as nomorebeef says, take multiple turns to use.
