This is a new RTS Space game coming out. Nice looking game. and the Cap-ships coming apart are pretty nice. I wish Sins would implement this kind of ship explosions and parts of the ships flying off when exploding.
My only problem with this game is that it is turn based for the normal game, but fights are real time. this kind of kills the game for me. I cant stand turned based games anymore. real time ruined it for me.

Same. TBS's are just too boring and micromanagement intensive for me now, and they make playing online multiplayer either impossible or difficult. When you get bored playing against the silly AI, your options for playing real opponents are thus kind of limited.
There is a new, not very impressive teaser for Legends of Pegasus.
And a challenge to Sins:
Teaser
I enjoy Total War games so I might find this palatible, but I would have to look up more on it. Cute move against Sins though.
Yeah I am a big total war fan so this may be good for me too.
It will be interesting to see if I can stand it after sins. I just wish sins had more of a campaign and some more unique features like the 3D and planet revolutions it had in the alpha.... I would almost pay anyone to let me play that alpha.
The other thing I do not like is the seemingly limited ship chassis. It seems the more weapons customisation you get in games the less ship classes you get. Its kind of pointless.
This. Additionally, the best single property of Sins is that its strategic and combat part are overlapping, with all the other games, even those, which were not turn-based at all, like Empire at War or Pax Imperia 2, these 2 gameplay elements are separated. Its like playing 2 different games then, and i do not like such apporach.
I would normally prefer the smoothness of Sins, but I also like the complexity and challenge of managing the economy and politics. That's hard to do in real time without making the game a real drag. I wouldn't want to see Sins try and make that reach because the micro would be crazy.
Keep in mind that I have room for both games and do like to switch up what I play from time to time.
"Forget your sins, be a legend"
hehehe
Yeah i noticed that. Its aiming to be direct competition.
I have found out that their is limited Z axis movement to allow ships to be attacked from the top and bottom
their is also subsystem targetting if you have the right tech... which may explain the way ships get destroyed piece by piece.
I think where Sins may trump is in multiplayer. I don't know how well a turn based total war style strat map will translate.
This game is one in a month or so, we shall see what it has to offer.
P.S. Does everybody here know that conquest frontier wars 2 is about to be announced in the next few weeks?
If it has a good campaign backing it and engine who knows.
My general experience with turn-based games in MP is that they have the RTS component for multi-player, but not the grand strategy part. Then again, I haven't played the latest Total War game either.
Holy Fecal Spheres, Batman! I loved that game. I feel that it's a spiritual predecessor to Sins and, after a fashion, something of a Starcraft in space. I hope that they didn't change too many things to appeal to the mainstream. I, for one, loved the resource limitations.
Shogun 2 Total War allows both (at least, co-op is allowed for the grand campaign)...though I do believe in spite of this, you are still generally right: MP is predominantly the real time tactical battles...
I just want the huge scale that this game has to offer. I would love to have strategic zoom on a huge galaxy, or if anything do something similar to what Dawn of War I did by the end of the expansions.
Lol, the Space Ponies are real, does that make Ironclad the Vasari?
Oh, and a 40-hr single player campaign and in-game customisation of ships, now that has me interested already.
Hell, my first real empire-style games was Birth of Federation and Age of Wonders, and the only reason I still don't play BoF is that my cd cracked on me because my cd drive wasn't correctly aligned and was vibrating the disc as it span.
Plus the Buy-line at the end of the UK trailer on Steam is a nice play on words and an interesting challenge to Ironclad. But can Novacore live up to it?

Well, LoP will either soar like a Pegasus, or be destined for the pet-food factory like an old nag.
edited for epic failing-
lol, the game isn't released yet, it comes out in Sep
edit: invalid argument
lol whoops, wrong thread...I really should watch better which one I clicked away >.<
Endless Space is making its big push against Rebellion. I don't think anything else out there really what it takes to either match Rebellion or Endless Space. They're a much different style of company and game -moddable or not- looks amazing.
Just wait for the game, don't get a beta ... um, like we did.
i realy like that there is a multiplayer and coop mode in legends of pegasus
the lack of MP in GalCiv is the reason why i dont play this game. As i cant used my learned expirence against AI againt humans later. Sure such turnbased games mostly played on singleplayer, but if i dont can have some challeging MP games later i just dont want to play it.
That's why I liked Birth of Federation so much, TBS but with MP.
Actually it has been pushed back to Aug 14th instead of July 31st....Here's a thread I created with more details of the game....
The game has been released. I downloaded and started. It has crashed during the first campaign. And they have already posted their first patch. They should have waited 4 more days for release I think.
The graphics look nice so far. Fought a tutorial battle. I will have to get some more experience before I say anything else.
Forget your Sins become a Legend?
We'll see about that...
Everything I've read indicates that LoP is a bit of a mess right now. Some have even compared it to the SotS2 release, although most people are saying it's not that bad.
Wow, thank you for the relevant post to Sins Rebellion. I sure learned a lot from your relevant topic. Thank you so very much for your relevant topic. I'm not sure what I would ever do without it. Truely, you are a credit to these forums. I don't know what we would do without people like you.
Upset much? The OP did post the name of the game as the title and while it does not directly relate to Rebellion, there are some interesting things to gleam from this (for both us and SD/IC). Biggest of these is the LoP did not have a beta, and released as total doodoo compared to Rebellion which for the most part just needed balancing. Only "major" issues I recall is occasional MDs and Desyncs in MP, which are more technical issues. In LoP you have frustrating bugs like your camera occasionally zooming in on its own when you try to pan, saves not working at all for some, ships stuck in "warp" and are uncontrollable after combat phase has ended and many more. As long as this thread is simply comparing SoaSE:R and LoP there is no problem with it from my view. Your view is apparently very narrow. Loosen up a bit dood and drop the over-the-top sarcasm....not all of it tho, cause it is amusing
