I just tried to apply the Ammonite II WB and it didn't work at all. The preview didn't even show the WB. this is the first time I tried to apply it under the latest build of WB. Here's my info:
Your computer has a Windows Experience Index base score of 5Your Windows Graphics Experience score is 5WindowBlinds version : WindowBlinds 7.3 (build 310 - Windows 7 Edition) - 64 bit OSWindowBlinds is installed correctly on this PC WindowBlinds appears to be activated on this PC(Dell U2312HM DVI) 1 is attached to ATI Radeon HD 5450Wblind.dll 2011/10/13 10:36:20Wblind64.dll 2011/10/13 10:36:08Wbsrv.dll 2011/09/26 14:10:56SevenConfig.exe 2011/10/13 08:25:52Wbload.exe 2010/10/20 15:08:35Wbhelp.dll 2011/10/04 09:01:37Tray.dll 2009/10/23 19:12:19Wbload.dll 2010/06/07 14:59:25Screen.exe 2010/06/07 14:59:43
I really don't think it's anything wrong with the program but it may be this particular blind is incompatible with the latest build. Anyone else having this problem and know how to fix?
Check the Star rating in WB config. It may be set higher than the skin rating. If so, the WB won't show in the preview list.
This is from Deskscapes, but it's the same thing in WindowBlinds. Click here:
My problem is not the small preview below with the stars (mine is set to filter all with 2 or more stars and Ammonite has 3 stars). The preview in the bottom part is exactly like it's supposed to be. My problem is that when I single click, the resulting pic above is nothing like the WB. And, if I do try to apply it, it simply retains the WB I have already had (though the program thinks I have Ammonite). I had none of these problems with this blind in the previous build. Ammonite worked perfectly. I might add that there is no uis info where it should be. Here is a screenshot:

Two things to try.
First, open Skin Options and select Rebuild list.
Failing that......
Second, delete the skin from the same Options menu and reinstall it.
Update: I just dl'd and installed it and get the same results as you. Clearly there is something wrong with the skin, at least with this build of WindowBlinds.
OK, I was able to mess around and find this.
I loaded it up in SKS and then made a .wba file.
Double clicked that and got the little popup window stating that it was installed, clicked that and it loads the skin.
Go to WB Config and still no large preview and once I change skins, Ammonite II will not load again, unless I double click the wba file again.
Try this: After downloading rename the file to Ammonite II.wba.zip.
Open it and delete all files that have a ~ in the extension, like Ammonite II.uis~ Ammonite 7.xp~ etc etc and all .WB4 files.
Rename the file back to Ammonite II.wba. Install it and see if that did the trick.
Those pesky temp files are a focking pain in the ass. Wonder why SKS STILL insists on dragging them along when zipping.
Snowman whips Neils behind....
I had already re-downloaded the wba file. So, I followed RND's advice somewhat by simply doubleclicking on that file and clicking on the popup. It does apply the skin properly and the large preview still doesn't appear. so, until jazzy fixes the skin, I will have to do this each time (I saved the wba file in the Ammonite folder). Thanks dude.
Didn't work for me Snowy. Thanks tho.
Make sure you have a different blind applied and close Windowblinds. Open the skin folder for Ammonite and delete any file that has that ~ AND any file that say wb4 on it. Open Windowblinds and choose Ammonite again... go to the styles tab, click on one style and then the other one and back again. Both previews should be there and should stay showing even when you close Windowblinds and reopen it.
Edit: you will be deleting 37 files in all.
Hooray for Cyn!!! Thanks Cyn!
Oops, Snowy, I mis read your post. I missed the part about the wb4 files. So I guess you solved it after all.
Actually Snowyy said all that up there, he just went about it in a different way than I did.
I tried Snowy's proposal but it didn't work. Then I simply downloaded the older Ammonite and it works fine.
Strange, it worked for me and Xiandi..
I just tried Xiandi's and the key was to do the clicking on the 2 substyles. Brilliant! Don't know how you figured that out.
Thanks Jim for bringing this to my attention. I didn't have the blind installed, and when I did install it, I got the same thing as you all got when I clicked on the preview for it. All I did then was to click on the individual substyles, and the previews showed without a problem. I closed the wb config window and opened it again, and everything was as it should be. It was not necessary to delete any of the aforementioned files. I have no clue as to why this happened. I have Windowblinds 7.2, and this blind was made in 7.0. Maybe that has something to do with it.
Sorry for all the problems with the blind.
