So, what do you guys think about these new monsters?
@ Draak: I've played the demo on my netbook with no problems, gonna put this on my wish list on Amazon....It's funny because my netbook is considered to be above specs for the game and the game is what.? at least 7-10 years old...
Have you played the first? If not, then go for the gold and get all three: Homeworld, Homeworld: Cataclysm, and Homeworld 2. Beautiful games. The compendiums alone are stellar.
edit: The first game came out in 99. Not sure about the sequel, but it's had a few years now. Tech moves fast.

Oh, and remember what I said about the Complex mod if you like more advanced games. Also, Homeworld 2 has a great engine, IMO. If you feel up to it, look up a Battlestar Galactica mod for HW2. The graphics emulate the recent series nicely.

That's what it reminded me of too. The first thing I thought was: OMG they are going to bring Sovereign into the game!
Someone else and I were addressing that in another thread. We both figured the respective creators were inspired by crustaceans. Not atypical.
I mentioned it in the News section of the forum immediately after I saw the new artwork. It's funny to see I'm not the only one noticing the resemblence.
So you're saying the developers have crabs?
the 1st three all look Vasari to me. I think the the red more sinister one are based on the choosing a more aggresive faction, where as the blue is a more peaceful Vasari faction . the last one that looks like a mech could be Advent since it's seems sort of huminoid in form.
Thus far the advent ships have a human appeal whereas the Vasari are distinctly alien
Instead of posting all this concept art, post in game shots of how they look in game NOW or are they still working on the non-tec titans?

Alien bugger is the corvette most likely. "New corvette class ships use their enhanced speed and maneuverability to weave through the battlefield, inflicting damage to enemy ships’ systems." So it moves like a fighter, but has ion bolt or sabotage engines...
Again, considering the Advent's general lighting and plating consistencies,
the Cyhraeth is probably a titan or a capship.
I seriously doubt that any of the ships displayed are corvettes.
Supposedly the first and third are new battleships and the middle image is a Titan. The third follows some trends of the Advent (which it supposedly is) with the smooth skin and defined growth plates. The forward section is what is most puzzling, but all concept art is subject to change.
i actually think this is a starbase(if they will be in game that is) the shape does remind me of a starbase
If they would be releasing new starbases, I think they would have mentioned it in their features list.
fair enough, but its vertical(it seems) so starbase is the most logical thing in my eyes.
but its vasari i think anyway, looking at the shape of the "thing"

Well there is no thread that really has all the info in it. But I suggest you check out the developer journals, which can be found here. Also, you should check out their facebook page, since that's the place where all the info is at and where updates will be posted first. The updates will later be posted in the news section of the forum, so make sure you check that place too for additional info. Here is a quick link to the news section of the forum.

No.
The first pic to me, makes me think of the Shivan destroyer Lucifer from freespace. Maybe the Lucifer combined with a demon class or lilith class.
The 2nd one reminds me a lot of a longsword from halo, maybe that's just me though.
EDIT: Wow, talk about necroing, for some reason thought someone already had when i saw december for last post date, forgot it was january. Gotta try waiting till I'm awake before posting lol.
That's okay. Some of us noticed the comment still. And yes, I can see the Freespace resembelance, although less segmented than the Lucifer.
The concept art Looks nice. I am super giddy for beta. When I was building a new PC Sins was the first game I thought of to buy. My 12 gigs of 1600 hz is ready for Rebellion.
i believe sins can't even use all of them at least if i understood correctly...
good thing you didn't design your computer around what SINS actually uses for windows.
perhaps the devs are going fo that feel because some of the strongest structer are organic or orcanic in design and it would be easy for the Vasari to emulate this with their supirior nano tec
