If this problem has been mentioned already i apologize i used the search and couldn't find it.
when i first got galactic civilizations 2 ultimate edition after photon torpedo 3 i had anti-matter torp 1/2/3 quantum torps and positron torps and now they are gone i just get nightmare torp
also I'm missing some mass driver weapons and beam weapons. i have played every race in game and none have them and i cant get them as a custom race yet they all show up in the shipyard when accessed on the main menu this is annoying since a created some ships with these weapons with the in game shipyard but now i cant build them as i cant get the techs required.
I think they were removed for Twilight Expansion (it could have been the Dark Avatar Expansion, but I forgot which). I assume you were playing the Dread Lords version when you first got the game?Anyways, the ship yard thing (from the main menu) isn't perfect. I recommend using it to make templates; nothing more. You should design your functional ships in a game. Otherwise you are building ships using parts you don't have technology for (which might belong to other civs) and other details like miniaturization aren't applied.The fact the ship yard thing can access weapons that isn't currently in use shouldn't surprise you. Lately, I've been looking at the .xml data for the game and well... I've seen stuff that I suspect was used back in GalCiv 1, but hasn't been removed.
The weapons tree was redone somewhat for TA, yes. Someone complained about this quite some time back, and, lo and behold, I went to the trouble of throwing together a mod that gives you the DA weapons tree in TA.
