OMFG, do you have the most useless programmers on the planet? There are no graphics worth mentioning, there is no AI worth mentioning, it's freaking turn based.....WHY IS IT SO DIFFICULT to make a game that won't crash every 30 turns or so? And all this after how many patches?
It's not just that it crashes......I could live with that with frequent saved games......but once a crash hapens everything is corrupted. Sometimes, new heros are infanitely expensive, sometimes it bugs out and no matter how many times you research a technology, it won't unlock anything, the list is approaching infinite.
I really like the concept of the game....but my god...can you please hire a programmer with a clue to fix this thing?
No, i'm not going to post my errors or configurations, I am up to date with everything, and it crashes. You must have hundreds of posts, if not thousands, and you guys hav e absolutely failed at really fixing problems. The only reason you probably don't have more posts is you either delete them or people have just given up.
How do get I get my miney back for this abortion?
Well generally abortions are non refundable after all those doctors need to be paid you know. And I have no idea what miney is, some type of toy?
Either way take some meds and chill out. Your contributing nothing to help towards the solving of these issues as you put it.(You even stated toy WONT help either) so why should you be entitled to help from a developer. And I dont think I need to point out that SD has done way more for people who purchased this game than other big name companies would do.
I've given up hope of the developers actually doing anything to fix this game by now. They are either clueless, or they don't even bother and just pay a couple of forum moderators to make it look like something is happening.
Seriously...one of the possible causes to a problem that they came up with is the save files was unable to be broken up into smaller blocks to fit onto the hard disk because the drive was not 100% defragmented.....Really? I think EVERY other program ever written for a computer handles that issue just fine.
The list goes on and on.......where to even begin? I understand something like World of Warcraft or Halo or something having issues....they are actually doing something. This is a VERY simplistic game and it fails at something so basic as saving a file to the hard drive?
I have an AMD Phenom II quad core processor with 8 GB of RAM, over 1 Terabyte of available drive space and an nVidia GTS 250 Video card. I MORE than meet the specs to run this game. but I consistantly get the out of memory error and the Directx error. And, as I said, I can even live with that. The REAL problem is that after a few crashes, the game gets corrupted and is impossible to play. Technologies don't unlock, heros cost trillions of gold, tactical battles can't be completed, etc.
It's very frustrating. I also attempt to play this on my laptop and have the same issues. It's running Vista and has an intell processor and a 9800 GT video card....so i know it can't be somthing specific. The only commonality is nVidia as a manufacturer. If nVidia is incmpatible with this game then............
Just want to say "hi" before they lock this thread... have you considered Windows 7 or XP instead of Vista? Vista sux.
Sorry, my main PC is windows 7.....only my laptop is Vista...and yes, it does suck.
For my part, I haven't seen a crash in Elemental in ages. You shouldn't assume that, just because the game isn't running well for you, it's not running well for everyone else, too. The 1.2 patch, in particular, was geared towards bug-fixes and preventing crashes and everything, and as far as I can tell it was successful for nearly everyone who was still having crash issues. If you're running 1.2 and you're still crashing, you really ought to post your crash logs.
The game just sucks. Serious game-design flaws besides the game-programming flaws. Crash. Boring. Crash. Imbalanced. Crash. Rather than trying to improve the game like normal developers do, they've split it into a new, stand alone branch. That says a lot right there.
I am too surprised that the game still has so many bugs and I am not happy with it either but would never talk here in this community in a tone like you did in your opening post. Stardock is by my mind one of the few companies out there that really cares about their customers and it seems to me when I look around in these forums that they also are trying hard to get Elemental fixed. Not to forget how they communicate with their customers! They are present in these forums and always willing to help. That alone is something you can not say about lots of companies out there. These are things that I do respect and why I feel like I am a part of this community here at Stardock. And because of that I do feel offended by the words in your opening post and I think that they are completely out of bounds. You should reconsider what you said and consider to apologize for it if you want to be a part of this community as well.
Very nice post.
If you don't want to bother reporting errors, you won't have a bug-free game.
You are literally getting upset over your own failure.
